Utah vs Colorado 3/5/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Colorado Buffaloes and the Utah Utes meet Saturday in college basketball action from Jon M. Huntsman Center. Colorado is 19-10 on the season so far. The Buffaloes beat Arizona in their last outing. As for Utah, they’re sitting at 11-18 and coming off a loss to Arizona State. Colorado had a sketchy 1-5 run going in January/February, but has only lost consecutive games once outside of that. The Buffaloes are 6-1 in their last seven games. The wins have come over Oregon State (twice), Utah, Cal, Stanford and Arizona.

In the Arizona matchup last weekend, the Buffaloes trailed by five points going into the second half. Colorado hit a 47-26 run after the break in a 79-63 victory. Tops in scoring was Tristan da Silva with 19 points and three rebounds.

Over on the Utah side, their year started at a decent 8-4, but the Utes would only win one game between December 21 and February 17. Since a pair of victories over Stanford and California, the Utes have lost to Arizona and Arizona State in the last two.

Matched up against Arizona State last Saturday, the Utes were down 30-33 by the break. Utah hit a 31-30 run in the second but it wasn’t enough in a 63-61 loss. Marco Anthony led the team with his 19 points and four rebounds.

The Utes are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. The over is 4-1 in Utah’s last five at home.
Meanwhile, the Buffaloes are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 after an ATS win and 4-1 ATS in the last five overall. The over is 5-2 in Colorado’s last seven overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Colorado here. The Buffaloes are doing well over this 6-1 run. They’ve hit at least 70 points in each of the six victories, and the win over Arizona last weekend was certainly impressive. The last time these teams met up back on February 12 however, Colorado escaped with a rather modest 81-76 victory. Utah has been flailing lately but they’ve still put up good scoring totals here and there over the last month or so. I like the Utes to hang around most of the way here before the Buffaloes pull off the late cover/win.
