Wofford started their season at 1-2 with losses to High Point and Drake (and a win over Bob Jones U). After a three-game winning streak over Gardner-Webb, NC A&T and North Greenville, the Terriers lost to LSU.

On Thursday against Presbyterian, the Terriers went into the locker room with a 37-30 edge. Wofford kept up the pace from there and won 76-63. Messiah Jones led the team on 16 points with four rebounds.

Over on the Vanderbilt side, they started out the year at 2-2 overall. The Commodores lost the Memphis and Southern Miss, then beat Temple and Morehead State. Vanderbilt would then lose to Saint Mary’s and beat Fresno State.

The Commodores took another loss Wednesday versus VCU. Vanderbilt was down 35-28 by halftime and ended up with a 70-65 defeat. Myles Stute topped the team with 20 points, and Liam Robbins added 14 points with two assists.

PICK: I’m probably going with Wofford. The Terriers have been looking pretty good over this 4-1 streak; their only blemish was a close-fought 78-75 loss to LSU on Sunday. Wofford has scored 70 or more points in four straight games, and they’ve hit 70 points in seven of eight games overall this year. As for Vanderbilt they’ve had a couple of tricky matchups lately and haven’t quite found their form. I do like the Commodores to be competitive here, but cover-wise I’m leaning toward Wofford.
