The 6th ranked Kansas Jayhawks will travel to WVU Coliseum to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers this Saturday night in College Basketball action.
The 6th ranked Kansas Jayhawks won their 2nd straight game and improved to 21-4 on the season after defeating the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 76-62, this past Monday. Kansas was outstanding defensively against Oklahoma State and had no trouble cruising to victory after taking a 61-37 lead with 12:08 left in regulation. Kansas shot 39.1% from the field & 25.0% from beyond the arc while holding Oklahoma State to 39.7% from the field & 17.6% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Jayhawks was Ochai Agbaji who had 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, & 3 steals.
On the season, Kansas is averaging 79.5 ppg on 49.2% shooting from the field. The Jayhawks are averaging 7.2 three-pointers per game on 35.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Kansas has been led by Ochai Agbaji (19.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.6 apg), Christian Braun (15.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.0 apg, 1.1 spg, 1.1 bpg), Jalen Wilson (10.5 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.8 apg), & Dajuan Harris Jr. (5.8 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.6 spg).

The West Virginia Mountaineers lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 14-11 on the season after being defeated by the Kansas State Wildcats, 78-73, this past Monday night. West Virginia led by a 42-35 margin at halftime, however, the Mountaineers struggled offensively in the 2nd half and could not fight back after a 21-4 Wildcats run gave Kansas State a 65-58 lead with 7:00 minutes left in regulation. West Virginia shot 40.4% from the field & 35.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Kansas State to shoot 37.3% from the field & 37.5% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Mountaineers was Taz Sherman who had 23 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, & 1 steal.
On the season, West Virginia is averaging 68.3 ppg on 41.5% shooting from the field. The Mountaineers are averaging 6.2 three-pointers per game on 31.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Kansas certainly hasn’t been as great on the road this season, however, this is a very good team that has been led by a powerful offense that ranks 22nd in scoring offense, 7th in FG%, & 82nd in 3P-FG%. West Virginia has lost 9 of their last 10 games and between the fact that we’ve seen West Virginia lose by 7+ points at home vs. Oklahoma, Baylor, & Texas Tech and that I just don’t see the Mountaineers 251st ranked scoring offense being able to keep up with the Jayhawks, I’m taking Kansas to cover this mid-range road spread.
