The Fort Wayne Mastodons and the Milwaukee Panthers meet Sunday in college basketball action from UWM Panther Arena. Fort Wayne holds a 17-10 record on the year. The Mastodons beat Green Bay in their last outing. As for Milwaukee, they’re sitting at 9-19 and fresh off a loss to Cleveland State. Fort Wayne posted a shaky 8-8 run over their first 18 games this year. The Mastodons have put up a 9-2 run since then, however. They’ve beaten Milwaukee, Green Bay, IUPUI, UIC, Cleveland State and Green Bay in the last six games.

In the Green Bay matchup back on Friday, the Mastodons managed a 33-23 lead in the first half and a 41-32 run from there in a 74-55 victory. Leading the way was Damian Chong Qui with 16 points, three rebounds and five assists.

Over on the Milwaukee side, they’ve been pretty shaky all year and have only been able to win consecutive games three times so far. The Panthers took out Wright State and Green Bay over the past week, but lost their last game to Cleveland State.

Matched up against Cleveland State on Friday, the Panthers were drilled 25-42 in the first half. Milwaukee kept the pace from there but still lost 78-61. Tops in scoring was Joey St. Pierre with 12 points, three rebounds and one assist.

The Panthers are 11-24 ATS in their last 35 at home and 2-7 ATS in the last nine overall. Milwaukee is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Mastodons are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 after an ATS win. Fort Wayne is 5-1 ATS in their last six overall.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Fort Wayne here. The Mastodons are doing well over this six-game win streak; they’ve hit 70 or more points in each game, including a 70-60 victory over Milwaukee back on February 4. Speaking of Milwaukee, they’re going to have their hands full trying to keep up in this rematch; the Panthers have scored 61 points or fewer in four straight games. If Fort Wayne can post a decent outing on offense here I think they’ll be just fine on a cover.
