The Nicholls Colonels and the Wyoming Cowboys meet in college basketball action from the Arena-Auditorium on Thursday night.
The Nicholls Colonels will look to rebound from a 117-75 loss to Arizona in their last game. Micah Thomas led the way with 20 points on 8 of 10 shooting with 4 threes while Latrell Jones added 16 points on 6 of 9 shooting. Caleb Huffman added 13 points on 6 of 9 shooting as well while Pierce spencer added 12 points along with 3 assists to make up the scoring in double figures for Nicholls in the losing effort. Huffman also had 6 steals and Spencer had 4 while Manny Littles added a team-high 7 rebounds as well in the loss.
The Wyoming Cowboys will try to build on their 102-69 win over Colorado Christian college last time out. Jeremiah Oden led the way with 17 points on 5 of 9 shooting with 3 threes while Max Agbonkpolo added 16 points on 7 of 14 shooting with a pair of threes and 6 rebounds. Hunter Thompson added 15 points on 5 of 9 shooting with 4 threes and 5 rebounds and Hunter Maldonado had 12 points with 7 assists and 4 steals. Noah Reynolds added 12 points and Jake Kyman added 10 points to cap off the scoring in double figures for Wyoming in the win. Ethan Anderson added 7 points with a team-high 8 assists along with 6 rebounds.
Nicholls is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games against a team with a winning home record and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a loss while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 games overall. Wyoming is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a win while the over is 9-3-1 in their last 13 home games.
I get the reasoning for backing Nicholls here, but the thing is that I’m high on this Wyoming team. The Cowboys showed a lot last year and bringing back guys like Maldonado, Ike and others and I like the direction that this Wyoming team is headed and they could make a run back to the Big Dance come March. I just think that Nicholls is up against it here so I’ll lay it and play it with Wyoming in this one.
