Yale vs Brown Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/16/23

The Brown Bears and the Yale Bulldogs meet Monday in college basketball action from Lee Amphitheater. Brown is 9-8 overall this year and coming off a win over Princeton. As for Yale, they’re 11-6 so far following a loss to Cornell on Friday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Brown managed a 7-5 run through their first 12 games, losing to Vermont, Colgate, Loyola MD, UMass Lowell and Michigan State. The Bears are 2-3 in their last five outings with wins over Dartmouth and Princeton.

In the Princeton game, Brown took a 44-36 deficit into the second half. The Bears stormed back on a 36-26 run from there and won it 72-70. Kino Lilly was the leading scorer on 26 points with two rebounds.

Over on the Yale side, they were 9-3 after 12 games this year with losses to Colorado, Kentucky and Butler. The Bulldogs are 2-3 in their last five as well with losses to Columbia, Dartmouth and Cornell.

Matched up against Cornell on Friday, the Bulldogs took a 49-43 lead into halftime. Yale was outscored 51-33 from there and fell 94-82. Bez Mbeng was the leading team scorer on 21 points with two rebounds.

PICK: I’m probably taking a stab on Brown here. It should be an entertaining matchup regardless though, and you could make a case either way. That said, the Bears have been scoring well over their last four games with 68 or more points in each. Brown has been giving up quite a bit on the other side, though; 70 or more points in each of the four as well. As for Yale, they’ve hit 76 or more points in four of their last six outings so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a high total here. I like Brown to ultimately power out the cover in a fun game.
