The LSU Tigers and the Auburn Tigers meet Saturday in college football action from Jordan-Hare in Auburn. Here’s an Auburn vs LSU prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Auburn vs LSU pick.
LSU Tigers Betting Preview
LSU has a couple of tough losses on the books so far this year but otherwise they’re doing well. The Tigers opened up the season at 4-1 with a loss to Ole Miss mixed among wins over Clemson, LA Tech, Texas A&M and McNeese. After a tough overtime loss to Kentucky LSU beat Mississippi State last weekend for a 5-2 overall record this year.
In the Mississippi State matchup last weekend the Tigers bagged three first-half touchdowns for a dominant 21-0 advantage at the break. LSU cruised from there on 10 more points and posted a blowout/shutout victory in the end 31-0. QB Sam Leavitt was 31-of-38 for 289 yards and four touchdowns. Jackson Harris caught two scores among his six grabs for 85 yards.
Auburn Tigers Betting Preview
Over on the Auburn side, they kicked off the season with a couple of consecutive wins over Baylor and Southern Miss. The Tigers are just 2-2 since then though. The two losses in that time have come versus Florida and Tennessee. Auburn otherwise beat Vanderbilt and Georgia during that stretch, bringing their record this season to 4-2 through six outings.
Matched up against Georgia last weekend the Tigers were in trouble after a couple of Bulldogs scores in the first quarter. Auburn came back to build a third-quarter lead though, and eventually emerged with a 27-24 victory after a last-second field goal. QB Byrum Brown was 15-of-26 for 150 yards and a score while rushing for 115 yards and another touchdown.

Auburn vs LSU Prediction
I’ll lean toward LSU but you could call this one either way. The Tigers kept Mississippi State in check last weekend on 18 first downs and 291 total yards allowed. Offensively LSU notched 28 first downs, 379 total yards and 8-of-13 on third downs. The Tigers needed a good showing after falling by one point at Kentucky in overtime, and they got it.
As for Auburn, they’re riding high after stunning No. 1-ranked Georgia in Athens. The Tigers went just 6-of-16 on third downs and had 11 penalties for 85 yards in the win but still pulled it off. Defensively Auburn had three big takeaways while allowing 440 total yards. This will be another tough matchup for the Tigers and I don’t quite think they’ll get lightning to strike twice in a row.
