The Arizona State Sun Devils and the Baylor Bears meet Saturday in college football action from McLane Stadium. Here’s a Baylor vs Arizona State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Baylor vs Arizona State pick.
Arizona State Sun Devils Betting Preview
Arizona State has already had a few ups and downs this season. Their opener versus Northern Arizona went pretty well though, as the Sun Devils posted points in all four quarters during a 38-19 victory. QB Sam Leavitt threw for 257 yards with two scores and a pick while also leading the rush on 73 yards and two more scores. Jordyn Tyson owned the receivers with 12 catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns.
In game two versus Mississippi State, Arizona State was handed their first loss. The Sun Devils outscored the Bulldogs 17-7 in the second half to make a game of it but fell short 24-20 in the end. Leavitt was just 10-of-22 this time for 82 yards, one TD and two picks. Raleek Brown had 18 carries for 110 yards while Kanye Udoh added 23 totes for 105 yards and a score.
Matched up against Texas State last weekend, the Sun Devils notched only a field goal in the first quarter before they really got going. When the dust settled Arizona State had a 35-15 victory. Leavitt put up 188 yards and two scores on 15-of-25 passing (with a TD on the ground), while Brown rushed for 144 yards and a rush score. Tyson was the lead receiver with 105 yards and a TD on six grabs.
Baylor Bears Betting Preview
Over on the Baylor side, their year began with a matchup versus a tricky Auburn team. The Bears scored in every quarter—but also gave up points in every quarter—during a 38-24 loss there. QB Sawyer Robertson had 419 yards with three scores, and Kole Wilson led the receivers on eight catches for 134 yards. Bryson Washington was tops in rushing with his 14 carries for 54 yards.
In game two versus SMU, Baylor had a tough double-overtime fight on their hands but eventually emerged victorious 48-45 by game’s end. Robertson was 34-of-50 for 440 yards and four touchdowns this time, while Washington carried 31 times for 115 yards and two scores. Josh Cameron added nine catches for 151 yards and two touchdowns as well.
On the field against Samford in their latest appearance, the Bears didn’t have too many issues. Baylor scored 21 points in the second quarter alone, cruising to the win 42-7. Robertson was 23-of-37 for 211 yards, three scores and two picks. Washington rushed 21 times for 135 yards and two more TDs, while Ashtyn Hawkins had three catches for 42 yards to top the receivers.

Baylor vs Arizona State Prediction
I’ll lean toward Baylor, but you could probably make a case either way here. The Bears drilled Samford over the weekend, holding the Bulldogs to just 195 total yards (100 passing), 3.4 yards per play, 10 first downs and a 4-of-15 success rate on third-down tries alongside four takeaways. Baylor posted 223 rush yards (468 total) on the other side, but did have a couple of turnovers and went just 4-of-13 on third-down conversions. There’s plenty to clean up, but overall the Bears haven’t looked too bad so far—aside from a too-close finish in the SMU game.
As for Arizona State, they notched 245 rush yards (433 total) with 21 first downs and 6.5 yards per play in their win over Texas State. The third-down conversions (5-of-13) could have been better but overall it was a pretty decent effort. Arizona State has held opposing offenses to fewer than 25 points in all three games (fewer than 20 in two of those) so it’ll be interesting to see what they can do against Baylor.
