The Texas Tech Red Raiders and Texas Longhorns clash Saturday in week 4 Big 12 college football action at Jones AT&T Stadium. The Texas Longhorns look to build on their 2-1 record. The Texas Tech Red Raiders also look to get off to a 3-1 record.
The Texas Longhorns have lost 4 of their last 5 road games. Quinn Ewers is completing 69.4 percent of his passes for 359 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Xavier Worthy and Jordan Whittington have combined for 308 receiving yards on 25 catches, while Bijan Robinson has 7 receptions. The Texas Longhorns ground game is averaging 170.3 yards per contest, and Robinson leads the way with 311 yards and 5 touchdowns. Defensively, Texas is allowing 16.7 points and 347 yards per game. Jaylan Ford leads the Texas Longhorns with 25 tackles, Barryn Sorrell has 1.5 sacks and Jahdae Barron has 1 interception.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders have won 5 of their last 8 home games. Donovan Smith is completing 64.5 percent of his passes for 785 yards, 7 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Jerand Bradley and Loic Fouonji have combined for 340 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns, while Myles Price has 12 receptions. The Longhorns are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Red Raiders are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss. The under is 4-1 in Longhorns last 5 games overall. The over is 4-1 in Red Raiders last 5 games in September. The Longhorns are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Texas Tech and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 meetings.
This line doesn’t make any sense to me, as the Texas Longhorns are rolling with their backup quarterback and were just in a scary situation last week against UTSA for a while. The Texas Tech Red Raiders have a win over a ranked Houston team and just took an excellent NC State squad down to the wire last week. Texas Tech is the healthier team and has shown more up to this point, which includes having the fourth best passing offense in the country. This line is nuts to me. Give me Texas Tech and the points in a game it could easily win outright.
