Boise State vs Oklahoma State 9/18/21 College Football Picks, Odds, Predictions

The Boise State Broncos meet the Oklahoma State Cowboys Saturday in week 3 college football action from Albertsons Stadium. Oklahoma State is coming off a matchup versus Tulsa. In that game the Cowboys bagged a tight five-point win. As for Boise State, they played UTEP in their last game. The Broncos posted a huge victory in that game. Oklahoma State was outscored by Missouri State 13-3 in the second half of their opener game, but the Cowboys hung on for a 23-16 win. OK State QB Shane Illingsworth put up 315 yards with a TD and a pick, while Davontavean Martin had 107 yards and a score from six carries.

In game two versus Tulsa, Oklahoma State scored 21 points in a wild fourth quarter on the way to a 28-23 comeback victory. QB Spencer Sanders had 173 yards with two TDs and an interception, and also led the rush with 62 yards on 10 carries.

Over on the Boise State side, they had an early lead versus UCF in their opener but couldn’t hang on in a tough 36-31 defeat. Quarterback Hank Bachmeier had 263 yards with two TDs and one pick. Khalil Shakir led the receivers with his 91 yards and two scores.

The Broncos took on UTEP this past weekend. In that one, Boise State scored 31 points in the second quarter alone on the way to a big 54-13 victory. Broncos quarterback Hank Bachmeier put up 340 yards with two scores, and Khalil Shakir had seven grabs for 166 yards receiving.

The Cowboys are 2-7 ATS in their last nine overall and 14-4 ATS in their last 18 non-conference games. OK State is also 1-5 ATS in their last six on turf.

Meanwhile, the Broncos are 4-0 ATS in their last four in September and 5-1 ATS in their last six at home. Boise State is 0-4 ATS in their last four after a straight-up win as well.

PICK: I’m going with Boise State. The Broncos put up 461 yards of total offense in their week two outing, including 340 through the air and 7.4 yards per play on average. Boise also had just two punts and one turnover while forcing six turnovers on the other side.

As for OK State, they had a very difficult time with a pesky Tulsa team, posting a paltry 313 total yards and 4.5 yards per play. The Cowboys ultimately found a way to win however, which is the only important thing. Still, I like the Broncos better on a cover here.
