Bowling Green vs Old Dominion Prediction 9-28-24 College Football Picks

The Old Dominion Monarchs and the Bowling Green Falcons will meet Saturday in college football action from Doyt Perry Stadium. Here’s a Bowling Green vs Old Dominion prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Bowling Green vs Old Dominion pick.

Old Dominion Monarchs Betting Preview

The Monarchs have struggled through three games so far, but their first two outings were fairly close calls. Old Dominion fell to South Carolina 23-19 in their opener, then took a close loss 20-14 versus East Carolina in game two.

Back on September 14 versus Virginia Tech, the Monarchs would take another loss. This one wasn’t close though, as ODU fell 37-17 after a reasonable four-point deficit in the first half. QB Quinn Henicle threw for just 38 yards and a pick, while Bryce Duke led the rush on 85 yards from four carries.

Bowling Green Falcons Betting Preview

Over on the Bowling Green side, they opened up their year with a fairly routine matchup versus Fordham. The Falcons cruised through that one with a 41-17 victory. In game two versus a tough Penn State team, Bowling Green fought hard but ended up taking a tough loss 34-27.

Matched up against Texas A&M in another tough game last weekend, the Falcons were down 20-17 going into the fourth quarter and ultimately lost a close one 26-20. Connor Bazelak threw for 250 yards, one TD and one pick. Harold Fannin led the receivers on 145 yards and a score off eight catches.

Bowling Green vs Old Dominion Prediction

I’m going to stay with Bowling Green. The Falcons had their hands full last weekend against Texas A&M but performed admirably overall. Bowling Green went just 3-of-12 on third downs however, and gave up 235 rushing yards to the Aggies. They’ll match up better on Saturday, though.

As for Old Dominion, I expect them to look better here than they did against Virginia Tech. The Monarchs mustered 293 total yards in that one (243 rushing) with 11 first downs, two turnovers and a rough 2-of-13 on third-down conversions. ODU should have more dimensions to their offense this weekend but I don’t think they’ll keep pace.
