The Ohio Bobcats meet the Central Michigan Chippewas Saturday in MAC week 6 college football action at Peden Stadium. The Central Michigan Chippewas need a win here to get back to a .500 record. The Ohio Bobcats need another win to rebound from a rough 1-4 record.

The Central Michigan Chippewas have lost four straight road games. Daniel Richardson is completing 57.5 percent of his passes for 763 yards, eight touchdowns and zero interceptions. Dallas Dixon and JaCorey Sullivan have combined for 776 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns while Kalil Pimpleton has 21 receptions. The Central Michigan Chippewas ground game is averaging 154.2 yards per contest, and Lew Nicholls III leads the way with 405 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Central Michigan is allowing 27.6 points and 402.4 yards per game. Gage Kreski leads the Central Michigan Chippewas with 34 tackles, Troy Hairston II has three sacks and Donte Kent has one interception.

The Ohio Bobcats have split their last four home games. Kurtis Rourke is completing 65.5 percent of his passes for 654 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. Ty Walton and Cameron Odom have combined for 336 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Jerome Buckner has nine receptions. The Ohio Bobcats ground game is averaging 192.4 yards per contest, and De’Montre Tuggle leads the way with 365 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Ohio is allowing 31.6 points and 419.4 yards per game. Bryce Houston leads the Ohio Bobcats with 31 tackles, Will Evans has 1.5 sacks and Alvin Floyd has one interception.

The Chippewas are 8-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games as a favorite. The Bobcats are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The under is 5-1 in Chippewas last 6 road games. The over is 5-2 in Bobcats last 7 conference games. The Chippewas are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 meetings.

These are two inconsistent teams that are hard to read through five games and I’m not comfortable backing either side. However, Central Michigan is 86th in total defense and 87th in scoring defense while Ohio is 99th in total defense and 107th in scoring defense. Two teams that have issues getting off the field. If forced to pick this contest, I’d look at backing the over the total.
