East Carolina vs South Florida Prediction
I’ll stay with East Carolina but it’s something of a coin flip. The Pirates held Temple in check pretty well on Saturday, giving up just 15 first downs and 1-of-7 on third-down conversions alongside three picks. Offensively ECU gained 352 total yards and 22 first downs but went just 4-of-12 on third-down tries. The Pirates have been at 17 points or below in two of the last three games so they’re going to have to step on the gas here.
As for South Florida, they had a great defensive day in their win over UAB last weekend. The Bulls scored twice while giving up just 10 first downs, 177 total yards and 4-of-16 on third downs. The offense was fairly meager stats-wise though, with just 13 first downs and 237 total yards (46 passing). The D is going to be a bit tough to contend with here, but if the Pirates play like they’re capable of playing I think they can power one out.

USF Bulls Betting Preview
The Bulls kicked off the season on a great run but they’ve run into a spotty schedule lately. South Florida won their opener versus Florida International then took out Army, Delaware State and Bowling Green in the next three. The Bulls would then take their first loss to Temple 17-13 on October 3, then followed that up with another loss at UTSA. South Florida halted the streak with a 29-2 win over Kent State though, giving the team a 5-2 record over the first seven games of the season.
In their Halloween matchup with UAB, the Bulls had an early 10-0 deficit but then crawled back into it with a couple of touchdowns in the second quarter. South Florida kept it up in the second half by scoring a few more times and eventually walked away with a 30-10 win. QB Luke Kromenhoek was 7-of-10 for 39 yards and also led the rush with 15 carries for 92 yards. DJ Crowther’s lone 19-yard reception put him atop the receivers for the day.
East Carolina Pirates Betting Preview
Over on the Pirates’ side, they’ve had mixed results this season as well. East Carolina lost to Alabama and Appalachian State in their first two outings, but then got back up over the .500 mark in the record column with wins over Old Dominion, North Carolina Central and Rice in the next three. The Pirates took a couple of overtime losses after that though, falling to UAB and Memphis to drop their overall record to 3-4 on the season.
Matched up against Temple last weekend the Pirates scored a touchdown in the first quarter and followed that up with a late field goal in the second. East Carolina’s final trip to the scoreboard came during the third quarter but they were still able to hang on for the win 17-9 in the end. QB Mitch Griffis was 17-of-30 for 130 yards and a pick. TJ Engleman carried 16 times for 107 yards and a touchdown, while Landon Sides had seven catches for 58 yards as the team’s leading receiver in the victory effort.
