Georgia Tech vs Colorado Prediction Football Picks Today 9/3/26

In this article we will formulate a Georgia Tech vs Colorado prediction for this College Football game on Thursday, September 3rd at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this Week 1 matchup.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Preview

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets went 9-4 (6-2) last season and they finished tied for second in the ACC standings with four other teams. Georgia Tech started the season with a 27-20 win over Colorado and they followed that up with a 59-12 win over Gardiner-Webb. The Yellow Jackets started the season with eight straight wins, but picked up their first loss to NC State. Georgia Tech ended up losing three of their last four games in the regular season, before losing to BYU by a score of 25-21 in the Pop-Tarts Bowl. The Yellow Jackets scored 32.2 points per game in 2025, while they allowed 25.0 points against per game on defense.

This season, Georgia Tech will have Alberto Mendoza at quarterback, who is the brother of Fernando Mendoza from last year’s Indiana team. The Yellow Jackets should have some really solid running backs and the offensive line is talented, but the receivers don’t have much experience. On defense, Georgia Tech is lined up to have a great season on paper. The Yellow Jackets have some good returning production and they had success in the portal.

Colorado Buffaloes Betting Preview

The Colorado Buffaloes were 3-9 (1-8) last year and they finished second to last in the Big 12 standings. Colorado started the season with a tough loss to Georgia Tech, but they bounced back with a 31-7 win over Delaware after that. The Buffaloes were 2-2 through four games, but they lost seven of their last eight for the disappointing finish. Colorado really struggled to score points, as they scored 21 or fewer in six of their last eight games. The Buffaloes scored 20.9 points per game in 2025, while they allowed 30.5 points against per game on defense.

This year, Colorado will have a bunch of transfers, so it will be interesting to see how that works out. The Buffaloes are starting Julian Lewis at quarterback, who played decently well last year for a freshman. He will have plenty of talent at wide receiver to work with, but the running backs and offensive line are two huge question marks. On defense, Colorado was one of the worst units in the nation last year, but there’s a good chance all 11 starters will be transfers.

Georgia Tech vs Colorado Prediction

These two teams played in the opener last season, with Georgia Tech winning by seven points on the road. The Yellow Jackets will have home field advantage in this one, but I am not sure what to expect from Mendoza. Colorado has a bunch of transfers that may or may not work, but Lewis should be even better this year at the quarterback spot. I don’t think the Colorado defense will be much better at the beginning of this season, so I think we are going to see plenty of points. Take the over here.
