Miami Hurricanes Betting Preview

Miami started the year off quite well, though there were a few close escapes mixed into their opener run. The Hurricanes took out Florida, Florida A&M, Ball State, South Florida, Virginia Tech, California, Louisville, and Florida State in their first eight games.

In the Duke matchup last weekend, the Hurricanes trailed 21-17 going into the second half. Miami scored 36 points from there, however, and secured the win 53-31 in the end. Cameron Ward threw for 400 yards and five scores. Xavier Restrepo caught three of those TDs among his eight grabs for 146 yards.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Preview

Over on the Georgia Tech side, they beat Florida State, Georgia State, and VMI with losses otherwise to Syracuse and Louisville in their first five games. The Yellow Jackets would then beat Duke and North Carolina before losses to Notre Dame and Virginia Tech.

In the Virginia Tech matchup back on October 26, the Yellow Jackets couldn’t find the end zone in a 21-6 defeat. QB Aaron Philo posted 184 yards with an interception. Leading the receivers was Eric Singleton with five catches for 90 yards.

Georgia Tech vs Miami Prediction

I’ll probably just stick with Miami here. The Hurricanes started a bit slowly versus Duke but eventually found their form. Miami came up with 526 total yards (400 passing) and 26 first downs in that one, going 6-of-12 on third-down tries. The defense helped out with four takeaways but did give up 325 pass yards. the Hurricanes have scored at least 36 points in every game so far.

As for Georgia Tech, they’ve had some time to regroup after their loss to Virginia Tech. The Jackets were pretty great overall on defense in that one, giving up 233 yards (134 passing), 11 first downs, and 2-of-15 on third-down tries. The offense couldn’t cash in on anything though, and it’s not going to get any easier against Miami.
