In that one, the Razorbacks posted a nice 10-point win. As for Georgia, they played Vanderbilt in their last game. The Bulldogs didn’t have much trouble there, rolling to a huge shutout victory. Arkansas posted a nice victory over Rice to begin the 2021 campaign, winning 38-17. Game two was another big win for the Razorbacks, 40-21 versus Texas. Arkansas kept it going in their next outing, beating Georgia Southern 45-10 for another blowout W.
In game four versus Texas A&M, Arkansas scored 17 points in the first half on the way to a 20-10 victory. QB KJ Jefferson put up 212 yards with two scores, and Trelon Smith led the rushing attack with 82 yards from 17 carries.
Over on the Georgia side, they had a tough draw in their opener versus Clemson, but ultimately powered out a victory 10-3. The Bulldogs then plowed their way through their next two opponents, taking blowout wins 56-7 over UAB and 40-13 over South Carolina.
Last weekend versus Vanderbilt, Georgia pummeled the Commodores with 35 first-quarter points on the way to a 62-0 win. Quarterback JT Daniels posted two scores on 9-of-10 passing, and Brock Bowers caught four balls for 69 yards and two touchdowns.
The Razorbacks are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five on grass. Arkansas is also 10-3 ATS in their last 13 conference games.
Meanwhile, Georgia is 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six on grass. The over is 6-0 in the Bulldogs’ last six conference games as well.
PICK: I’m going to go with Georgia in this SEC matchup. Granted, the Bulldogs outmatched Vanderbilt in nearly every facet last weekend, but the numbers are impressive all the same. Georgia held the Commodores to just 77 total yards, four first downs and a 1.7 yards-per-play average. They’re in fine form these days.
As for Arkansas, they posted an impressive effort against a good Texas A&M team last weekend, holding the Aggies to 272 yards and 15 first downs. This one is shaping up to be a fun matchup, but I still like Georgia to eke out a cover.
