James Madison vs Georgia State Prediction Football Picks Today 10/17/26

The Georgia State Panthers and the James Madison Dukes meet Saturday in college football action from Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg. Here’s a James Madison vs Georgia State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best James Madison vs Georgia State pick.

Georgia State Panthers Betting Preview

It’s been a pretty nice start to the year for the Panthers. They’ve got just one blemish on the card so far. Georgia State kicked things off with a blowout win over North Carolina A&T, then beat Kennesaw State on the road. The lone loss so far came versus Central Florida on September 19, then came two more wins over Northern Illinois and Old Dominion.

In the Old Dominion matchup on October 3, the Panthers gave up a quick field goal in the first quarter then responded with four unanswered touchdowns for a 28-3 halftime edge. Georgia State cruised from there, riding through the second half on the way to a 42-10 victory in the end. QB Cameran Brown was 14-of-20 for 284 yards and a whopping six pass touchdowns.

James Madison Dukes Betting Preview

Over on the James Madison side, they’ve also been looking pretty good so far this year. The Dukes’ first outing was a tight win over Liberty 20-13, then came a blowout over Wagner. Game three was a win over San Diego State ahead of another road victory over Old Dominion. The Dukes would follow that up with a 45-17 win over Marshall for a 5-0 start to the season.

Matched up against Georgia Southern last weekend, James Madison traded field goals in the second quarter on the way to a 10-6 halftime deficit. The Dukes bagged a couple of touchdowns in the third and managed to hang on for a 27-24 win in the end. QB Camden Coleman was 16-of-27 for 171 yards and a touchdown in the winning effort for JMU.

James Madison vs Georgia State Prediction

I’ll stay with the Panthers but this should be a pretty great matchup. Georgia State pummeled Old Dominion pretty badly in their last outing, giving up just 11 first downs, 142 total yards and 5-of-17 on third-down tries. The Panthers bagged 470 yards on offense with 23 first downs and 187 rush yards. So far this year Georgia State has scored 30 or more points in every game and I like them to keep it rolling.

As for JMU, they managed to power past a pesky Georgia Southern team thanks to 438 yards and 23 first downs. The Dukes weren’t great on third downs (5-of-16) however, and shot themselves in the foot with penalties (nine for 75 yards). Still, James Madison continues to roll right along and should notch a nice showing here as well.
