LSU vs Alabama Prediction
I’ll stick with LSU but you could make a case either way. The Tigers didn’t have a ton of issues during a nice road win over a decent Auburn team in their last outing, posting 552 total yards, no turnovers and 29 first downs. The third-down conversion rate (5-of-13) could have been a bit better, though. On defense LSU gave up just 270 total yards and 16 first downs but didn’t have a takeaway. That makes a nice 69 combined points over the last two games, and 31 or more points scored in each of the last five total.
As for Alabama, they took care of Texas A&M on 379 yards and 20 first downs during their latest win, despite holding the ball for just 26:50 of game time. The Tide gave up just 4-of-11 on third downs defensively alongside their three takeaways. Alabama had scored just 27 combined points over the previous two games (both losses to ranked teams) but they’ve got 31 or more points in al six of their wins so far. I don’t think they’ll score so well versus LSU.

Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Preview
This year the Tide kicked off their campaign with a nice stretch of wins. Alabama took out East Carolina, Kentucky, Florida State, South Carolina and Mississippi State over their first five outings. Consecutive losses to Georgia and Tennessee came after that, but Alabama was able to get a win over Texas A&M to halt the brief skid. Across their first eight outings this year that gives the Crimson Tide a 6-2 overall record.
Back on October 24 in the matchup with Texas A&M, the Tide traded punches and ended up going to the half with a 17-17 tie. In the second Alabama posted a pair of late touchdowns and eventually powered out the victory 31-20. QB Keelon Russell was 19-of-30 for 311 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Daniel Hill led the rush with nine carries for 36 yards and Rico Scott had six catches for 156 yards.
LSU Tigers Betting Preview
Over on the LSU side, they’ve been pretty steady overall in the record column so far this season. The Tigers beat Clemson and Louisiana Tech in their first two games before taking a loss to Ole Miss. Consecutive wins over Texas A&M and McNeese followed after that, then another loss in overtime versus Kentucky 35-34. LSU has since rattled off two more wins over Mississippi State and Auburn, which puts the team at 6-2 overall through eight games this year as well.
Matched up against Auburn on October 24, the Tigers went on a scoring tear in the second quarter by rolling off three touchdowns en route to a 31-10 halftime edge. LSU was quiet after halftime until the fourth quarter and another TD, which would eventually put the Tigers over the top 38-17. Quarterback Sam Leavitt was 32-of-45 for 388 yards and three scores. Dillin Jones put up 21 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown, while Jackson Harris had nine catches for 178 yards and two of the scores.
