The Akron Zips and Miami-Ohio Redhawks clash Saturday in week 9 MAC college football action game from InfoCision Stadium.

The Miami-Ohio Redhawks come into this game looking to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 16-10 loss to Western Michigan last time out, falling to 3-5 on the year as a result.  Aveon Smith has thrown for 735 yards, 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 52.9% passing while Keyon Mozee has a team-high 376 rushing yards while Smith has 314 rushing yards and Kevin Davis has 204 rushing yards this season. On defense, Ryan McWood has a team-high 71 total tackles while Corey Suttle has 3.5 sacks and Caiden Woullard and Matthew Salopek each have 3 sacks.

The Akron Zips will try to bounce back from a 7th straight loss, falling to 1-7 with a 33-27 loss to Kent State last time out. DJ Irons has thrown for 2,199 yards, 8 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on 67.5% passing while also leading Akron in rushing with 224 rushing yards and 4 TDs. On defense, Bubba Arslanian has a team-high 86 total tackles while Akron’s defense as a whole has 10 sacks and 5 interceptions.

Miami-Ohio is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 conference games while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games following a loss. Akron is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 34-16-1 in their last 51 home games.

I’ve gone back and forth on this game, but I’m sticking with the under here. Miami-Ohio’s really struggled with a backup QB over the course of the season while the Akron Zips can’t seem to figure it out and keep finding new and creative ways to lose football games and not cover either. All in all, I think the safer play here is the under as I’m expecting a 60-minute slopfest, so give me the under here.
