Miami-FL vs Florida State 11/5/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Miami Hurricanes and Florida State Seminoles do battle Saturday in a week 10 ACC college football game from Hard Rock Stadium.

The Florida State Seminoles will try to build on a 41-16 win over Georgia Tech to climb to 5-3 on the year. Jordan Travis has thrown for 2,057 yards, 14 touchdowns and 3 interceptions while Treshaun Ward leads Florida State with 488 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Trey Benson has 483 rushing yards with 3 scores and Lawrance Toafili has 315 rushing yards and a team-high 5 scores as well this season. Johnny Wilson leads FSU’s receiving group with 30 grabs for 603 yards and 4 touchdowns while Ontaria Wilson has 320 receiving yards as well. The Seminoles also have a pair of 200+ yard receivers and three more 100+ yard receivers this season. On defense, Jammie Robinson has a team-high 61 total tackles and Jared Verse has a team-high 4.5 sacks. Florida State’s defense has 22 sacks and 4 interceptions as a unit this season.

The Miami Hurricanes will look to build on their 14-12 OT win over Virginia last time out to climb to 4-4 on the year, alternating wins and losses in each of their last four-games. Tyler Van Dyke has thrown for 1,737 yards, 10 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 64.1% passing while Henry Parrish Jr. has a team-high 554 rushing yards and 4 TDs and Thaddius Franklin Jr. has 5 rushing scores this season. Will Mallory leads Miami’s receiving group with 28 grabs for 371 yards while Colbie Young has 326 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. Brashard Smith and Frank Ladson Jr. each have 200+ receiving yards this season while Five more Hurricanes have at least 100 receiving yards this season. On defense, Corey Flagg Jr. has a team-high 41 total tackles with 2.5 sacks while Jahfari Harvey also has 2.5 sacks and Akheem Mesidor has a team-high 5 sacks as part of Miami’s 29 sacks as a team this year.

Florida State is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a win while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games in November. Miami is 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 conference games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record.

I will give Miami credit for grinding out a result last week, but the problem is that they shouldn’t have had to get to that point, and the offense looked dreadful until overtime where they were given the ball on the 25-yard line. Florida State had a tough stretch over the last few weeks, but the Seminoles have at least done the job against teams below them and while Miami has a solid team on paper, their play has been subpar to put it nicely this year. I think this is an 8-11 point win for Florida State, something like 31-20, so I’ll lay the points with Florida State here.
