The Pittsburgh Panthers and the Miami Hurricanes meet Saturday in college football action from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Here’s a Miami vs Pittsburgh prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Miami vs Pitt pick.
Pitt Panthers Betting Preview
Pitt started out the season on a nice run but they’ve stumbled over the last couple of outings. The Panthers rattled off five straight wins to start their campaign, beating Miami-Ohio, Central Florida, Syracuse, Bucknell and Virginia Tech. Pittsburgh has since fallen in consecutive games versus North Carolina and Boston College though, giving them a 5-2 overall record.
In the Boston College matchup last weekend the Panthers were up 12-0 at one point but let the Eagles back in it for a 14-12 halftime deficit. Pittsburgh added a few field goals the rest of the way but it wasn’t enough in a 27-21 loss. QB Corey Dailey was 11-of-25 for 193 yards, one TD and two picks. Damon Ferguson rushed 17 times for 119 yards in the loss.
Miami Hurricanes Betting Preview
Over on the Miami side, they’ve managed to get through the season unscathed so far but they’re coming off a very close call. The Hurricanes have taken out Stanford, Florida A&M, Wake Forest, Central Michigan, Clemson and Florida State so far. That gives Miami an enviable 6-0 undefeated record through the first half-dozen outings of the season.
Matched up against Florida State last weekend the Hurricanes traded touchdowns back and forth over the first half and entered the locker room with a 14-14 tie. Things got interesting in the fourth quarter and Miami had to fight through two overtime periods for a 43-35 win. QB Darian Mensah was 23-of-34 for 326 yards, three scores and a pick in the victory.

Miami vs Pittsburgh Prediction
I’ll stay with Miami but I probably won’t mess with it. The Hurricanes had to fight hard to dispose of a pesky FSU team last weekend, eventually giving up 443 total yards. On offense Miami managed 26 first downs, 583 total yards and 37:20 in time of possession. The Hurricanes are scoring great this year with 33 or more points in all six games and 41 or more points in five of them.
As for Pitt, they had three turnovers, 13 penalties for 133 yards and a 2-of-10 success rate on third downs in their latest loss to Boston College. The Panthers gave up 398 yards and 25 first downs defensively but still only lost by six. Pittsburgh’s two losses have come by a combined 10 points so they’ve been competitive with everyone this year so far.
