Missouri vs Vanderbilt Prediction 9-21-24 College Football Picks

The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Missouri Tigers meet Saturday in college football action from Faurot Field. Here’s a Missouri vs Vanderbilt prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Missouri vs Vanderbilt pick.

Vanderbilt Commodores Betting Preview

Vanderbilt’s season kicked off with a matchup versus Virginia Tech. It took overtime to get there, but the Commodores would come away with a 34-27 win. Game two versus Alcorn State was significantly easier. Vanderbilt posted a 55-0 blowout win in that one.

Last weekend versus Georgia State, the Commodores scored a blistering 22 points in the final quarter but it wasn’t enough in a 36-32 loss. Diego Pavia threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns. Leading the rush was Sedrick Alexander with 42 yards and a TD.

Missouri Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Tigers’ side, they posted a couple of dominant blowout wins in their first pair of games. The opener was a 51-0 shutout against Murray State. Missouri kept it rolling the next weekend, easily dispatching Buffalo 38-0 in another blowout.

In game three versus Boston College, the Tigers had a pretty dramatic battle. Missouri held a slim 17-14 lead after the first half and ultimately eked out the win 27-21. QB Brady Cook logged 264 yards and a TD while Nate Noel led the rush on 22 carries for 121 yards.

Missouri vs Vanderbilt Prediction

I’ll stick with Missouri. The Tigers were barely able to fend off a plucky Boston College team last weekend despite posting 440 total yards (264 passing), 22 first downs, and a nice 11-of-19 rate on third downs. Missouri’s eight penalties for 91 yards didn’t help, but otherwise, the team looked pretty good statistically overall.

As for Vanderbilt, they’re coming off a tough loss themselves despite a late push. The Commodores finished with 380 yards of offense (270 passing) but gave up 426 yards (269 passing) on the other side. This weekend’s matchup will be even tougher.
