The New Mexico State Aggies will look to rebound from an 0-2 start to the year after a 28-10 loss to San Diego State in their last game. Jonah Johnson threw for 326 yards, a touchdown and three picks on 34 of 56 passing while O’Maury Samuels led the Aggies with 35 rushing yards on 6 carries and Juwaun Price had 8 carries for 20 yards. Terrell Warner had a team-high 10 catches for 79 yards while Jared Wyatt had 5 grabs for 74 yards and Dominic Gicinto had 6 grabs for 64 yards and the Aggies’ lone receiving TD. Defensively, Joshua Ferguson and Eric Marsh each had a team-high 7 total tackles and 4 solo tackles while Chris Ojoh and De’Shawn Johnson each had a sack. Caleb Mills also recorded an interception for New Mexico State in the loss.


The New Mexico Lobos will try to build on a 27-17 win over Houston Baptist in their season opener. Terry Wilson threw for 174 yards and 3 touchdowns on 20 of 26 passing while also calling his own number 9 times for 49 rushing yards. Aaron Dumas led the Loos in rushing with 15 carries for 57 yards while Bobby Cole had 37 rushing yards. Keyonta Lanier had 72 receiving yards with a touchdown while Luke Wysong had 6 catches for 48 yards to lead the Lobos in receptions. Kyle Jarvis and Trace Bruckler each had a touchdown reception as well for the Lobos in the victory. On defense, Tavian Combs led the Lobos with 13 total tackles including 8 solo tackles while Reco Hannah, Dion Hunter, Langston Murray, Justin Harris and Jake Saltonstall each had a sack while Combs and Ray Leutele each had an interception as well in the win.

Yeesh. There might be help lines out there if you feel the need to bet this dumpster fire of a game. I mean you have two teams from the state of New Mexico that can’t score and in the case of the Aggies, have a harder time keeping points off of the board than the Lobos do, but that’s not saying a whole lot. I want nothingt o do with either of these teams if you couldn’t tell, but if forced to pick, I’m siding with the under. I envision this game being a slopfest from start to finish.
