North Carolina and Clemson meet Saturday in Week 6 college football action from Kenen Memorial Stadium. Here’s a North Carolina vs Clemson prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best North Carolina Tar Heels vs Clemson Tigers pick.
Clemson Isn’t Very Good
We can make whatever excuses we want for this team, there just isn’t any other way to put it, this Clemson team just isn’t good enough, at least to be trying for a National Championship. Two games ago against Georgia Tech they were knocked off 24-21, and in the last game against Syracuse, they were knocked off 34-21. Cade Klubnik did have a strong gam,e completing 37 of his 60 passes for 363 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Adam Randall did have a strong game, finishing with 16 carries for 130 yards.
Clemson on the season, is averaging 19.8 points while their defense is giving up 22.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 116th while the defense is ranked 68th. Klubnick has thrown for 996 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions.
Why the Clemson Tigers will win
- Clemson has won 33 of its last 36 games against teams from North Carolina.
- North Carolina has lost four of its last five games in October.
- North Carolina has failed to cover the spread in each of its last six games against conference opponents at Kenan Stadium.
- Clemson has covered the spread in each of its last four games against teams from North Carolina.
Can North Carolina Bounce Back?
It has not been a strong start to the season for North Carolina and they were blown out in the last game. North Carolina scored only nine points against Central Florida, while the defense gaveup 34 points. North Carolina’s biggest issue is they don’t actually have one quarterback right now. Max Johnson and Gio Lopez have both had their struggles, and they need to find a way to get one of the guys to be better, or they might not win another game the rest of the season.
North Carolina on the season is averaging only 21 points per game while their defense is giving up 22.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 106th while the defense is ranked 61st. Last season, North Carolina averaged over 31 points per game last year, and it’s clear this offense just isn’t as talented.
Why the North Carolina Tar Heels will win
- Clemson has lost four of its last five games.
- Clemson has failed to cover the spread in nine of its last 10 games as a favorite.
- The underdog has covered the spread in each of Clemson’s last four games.
North Carolina vs Clemson Prediction
I don’t think Clemson is all that talented, but they are still a much better team than NOrth Carolina. North Carolina at least has a quarterback in Klubnick and he has thrown for 996 yards and six touchdowns on the season. Max Johnson and Gio Lopez have both had some major issues this season, and that includes with the turnovers. Whoever is under center for the Tar Heels is going ot have a couple of turnovers, and Klubnick is going to have a huge game here. North Carolina’s defnese is going to struggle and Clemson is going to end up crusing here. Back Clemson against the spread.
