North Dakota State vs Jacksonville State Prediction Football Picks Today 8/29/26

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks and the North Dakota State Bison meet in week 0 college football action from the Fargodome on Saturday. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a North Dakota State vs Jacksonville State Prediction.

Jacksonville State Gamecocks Team Preview

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks come into the 2026 season after Charles Kelly made a heck of a debut in 2025, as the then-first-year head coach went 9-5, ending the year as Conference USA champions before earning a victory over Troy in the Salute To Veterans Bowl.

Caden Creel is back as the projected QB1 for Jax State after posting 1,152 rushing yards at QB in 2025, including 668 yards on designed runs. The Gamecocks do lose the services of running back Cam Cook, but luckily for JSU, the Gamecocks return 70% of their production on the offensive side of the ball and 63% from the defensive side as well.

North Dakota State Bison Team Preview

The North Dakota State Bison come into this game making their FBS debut after years of running the show in FCS, finishing with a 12-1 record in 2025, losing in the second round of the FCS playoffs to Illinois State. That being said, the Bison have been a QB factory and a winning machine at the FCS level, with 10 FCS national championships since 2011.

Nathan Hayes steps in as a senior redshirt, and it’s finally his time to shine in Fargo. On defense, this Bison unit ranked 1st in scoring and total defense in the FCS, and this Bison unit looks like they’re ready from the word go to compete at the FBS level.

North Dakota State vs Jacksonville State Prediction

I’m on North Dakota State here. I just think the Fargodome will be rocking for the FBS debut of the Bison, which feels like it’s been a long time coming. Jacksonville State has a lot of experience on the line, but this Jax State team is not built to play from behind, and if NDSU jumps out early, this could be a long day for the Gamecocks. Give me North Dakota State.
