Boston College went 2-3 over their first five games, beating Maine and Louisville with losses otherwise to Rutgers, Virginia Tech and Florida State. The Eagles would then hit a losing streak to Clemson, Wake Forest, UConn and Duke.

In the NC State game, Boston College was down 17-7 at the break. The Eagles surged with a 14-3 run from there in a 21-20 win. Quarterback Emmett Morehead managed 330 yards with three scores and two picks. Zay Flowers caught seven balls for 130 yards and two scores.

Over on the Notre Dame side, they lost their first pair to Ohio State and Marshall before wins over California, North Carolina and BYU. The Irish lost to Stanford, then took out UNLV, Syracuse and Clemson over the next trio.

Matched up against Navy, Notre Dame had a close call. The Irish were up 35-13 by halftime but didn’t score in the second half during a tense 35-32 win. QB Drew Pyne posted 269 yards with four TDs and a pick. Audric Estime rushed for 49 yards on eight carries.

The Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last seven in November and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 overall. Boston College is 1-4 ATS in their last five versus independents.

Meanwhile the Irish are 7-0 ATS in their last seven versus the ACC and 14-3-1 ATS in the last 18 in November. Notre Dame is 2-5 ATS in their last seven on turf.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Notre Dame. Probably not touching this one, though; the Irish are coming off a weird game versus Navy. Notre Dame had just 66 rushing yards and 15 first downs in that one, cooling significantly after the first half. Still, the Irish escaped with a victory.

As for Boston College, they managed minus-1 rushing yards, 12 penalties and three turnovers versus NC State but still pulled off the dramatic upset win. I’d imagine the Eagles come back down to earth in this one, but I’m not touching it.
