The Tigers didn’t have too many issues versus Clemson in their opener this year. LSU scored points in every quarter (with double-digits in each of the first three) on the way to a blowout win 51-10. QB Sam Leavitt was 16-of-28 for 230 yards, one TD and one pick while also scoring twice on the ground. Dilin Jones was tops in rushing (tied with Leavitt) on 23 carries for 113 yards and two scores.
In their second game versus Louisiana Tech, the Tigers held a very modest lead 10-7 going into the second half. LSU woke up from there with 35 more points however, and eventually cruised to an easy win 45-14. Leavitt was 25-of-38 for 344 yards, one TD and three interceptions but did score three times on the ground. Jones had 18 carries for 66 yards in the victory.
Ole Miss Rebels Betting Preview
Over on the Ole Miss side, they kicked the year off with a tight matchup versus Louisville. The Rebels outscored the Cardinals 17-14 in the fourth quarter to cap off a tense 41-38 victory. QB Trinidad Chambliss was 21-of-36 for 336 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Leading the receivers was Deuce Alexander with five catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns.
Matched up against Charlotte last weekend, the Rebels were up 27-0 by the end of the first half. Ole Miss added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter for a 41-9 victory as the game wound down. Chambliss was 23-of-26 for 225 yards and two scores in a nice performance. Kewan Lacy led the rush with 13 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

Ole Miss vs LSU Prediction
I’ll go with Ole Miss here, but this should be a really fun matchup if both teams play well. The Rebels didn’t have too much trouble versus Charlotte last weekend, notching 420 yards with 7.2 yards per play and 25 first downs. If there’s a gripe from the offense it’s the 1-of-4 on third-down conversions. On defense Ole Miss gave up 322 yards (179 passing) with 17 first downs and 3-of-14 on third-down conversion attempts. That makes a nice win over a very good Louisville team and a blowout over Charlotte so far for the Rebels.
As for LSU, they were monsters on defense versus LA Tech, holding the Bulldogs to just 140 yards (minus-3 rushing), eight first downs, 2.5 yards per play and 3-of-14 on third downs alongside three takeaways. The offense bagged 528 yards on the other side, but did have four turnovers. The 10 team penalties for 101 yards didn’t help either. LSU has a few things to clean up but I think they’ll be on point for this one.
