The Longhorns lost just one of their first eight games this year (34-30 versus Oklahoma on October 7) thanks in part to a productive offense that averaged 34.5 points per game in that time. I’m going to stay with Texas. The Longhorns had some rough numbers against a great Kansas State team in their latest victory, including 10 penalties, three turnovers and an ugly 2-of-15 success rate on third downs. Still counts as a W though, and Texas has now scored 30 or more points in all nine games this year.
As for TCU, they’re coming off a sketchy outing versus a fairly erratic Texas Tech team, giving up 428 total yards (282 passing), 22 first downs and posting zero takeaways in the loss. The Frogs have given up 24 or more points in four of the last five games, so Texas shouldn’t have too many issues putting up touchdowns in this one. I don’t think TCU will hang around for long.
