Troy vs LA Tech Prediction
I’ll take a stab on Troy. The Trojans gutted out a nice overtime win versus James Madison last week, bagging 17 first downs and 349 total yards along the way. Troy wasn’t great on third downs (4-of-15) though, and had seven penalties for 44 yards. The Trojans defense gave up 408 yards on the other side with five takeaways. JMU’s 10 penalties for 71 yards didn’t hurt, either. Troy had scored just 20 points combined over the previous two games. They’ve scored 17 or fewer in all four of their losses this year as well.
As for LA Tech, they played a pretty solid game in the win over South Alabama last weekend despite going a bit quiet after the break. The Bulldogs ended up with 315 total yards and 16 first downs while going just 2-of-10 on third-down tries. South Alabama’s 12 penalties for 100 yards and two turnovers certainly didn’t hurt matters either. On defense Louisiana Tech gave up 205 rushing yards and 24 first downs; the Jaguars just couldn’t get out of their own way. The good news for the Bulldogs is that they’ve won five straight with 24 or more points scored in each. This will be a pretty tricky matchup for them, though.

Over on the Troy side, they’ve been a mixed bag this year. The Trojans opened up the season just fine, taking out Sam Houston and Alabama State in their first couple of games. Troy went on a 1-4 run in the next five though, beating Southern Miss amid losses to Missouri, Utah State, Louisiana and LA-Monroe. Troy would then beat James Madison in overtime on the way to a 4-4 overall record this season.
