I’ll probably take a stab on Stanford here. The Cardinal were pretty impressive against Hawaii in their opener, but there are still plenty of things to clean up. Stanford was great against the rush but also gave up a whopping 355 yards passing to the Warriors and didn’t come up with any turnovers. The nine penalties (to Hawaii’s 11) didn’t help either. Still, it was a nice road victory and a great way to start out the campaign. As for USC, they rolled to 500 total yards and 25 first downs in their opener game versus San Jose State. In game two the Trojans again flexed their muscles with 668 yards of offense (453 passing), 12.4 yards per play and 28 first downs. It’s going to take a big push for the Cardinal to keep the cover pace in this one, but I think Stanford can do it if they play well.
