Vanderbilt vs Arkansas Prediction Football Picks Today 10/17/26

The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Vanderbilt Commodores meet Saturday in college football action from FirstBank Stadium in Nashville. Here’s a Vanderbilt vs Arkansas prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Vanderbilt vs Arkansas pick.

Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview

It’s been a pretty choppy year for the Razorbacks thus far. Arkansas kicked things off with a big win over North Alabama in the opener, but then fell to Utah and Georgia over the next two—both blowouts. The Razorbacks would recover with a blowout win of their own over Tulsa, but then fell back into the loss column 34-7 on the road versus Texas A&M on October 3.

In the Tennessee game last weekend, the Razorbacks scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and were leading 14-10 by the end of that period. Arkansas gave up a late score however, and ended up losing 24-17. QB KJ Jackson was 15-of-27 for 155 yards and a touchdown. Cam Settles carried eight times for 50 yards as the lead rusher.

Vanderbilt Commodores Betting Preview

Over on the Vanderbilt side, they started out the year quite well. The Commodores beat Austin Peay in their opener, then followed that up with two more wins over Delaware and North Carolina State for a 3-0 run. After that was a six-point loss on the road versus Auburn, then a blowout 38-14 loss on the road versus Georgia for a 3-2 record through five games.

Matched up against Ole Miss last weekend the Commodores exited the first quarter with a 14-3 deficit and things only got worse from there. Vanderbilt coughed up four touchdowns in the second quarter alone and limped to a 52-17 blowout loss. QB Jared Curtis was 19-of-32 for 222 yards, two picks and a touchdown pass in the losing effort for the Commodores.

Vanderbilt vs Arkansas Prediction

I’ll go with Arkansas here. The Razorbacks were able to hang around with a very good Tennessee team in their last outing despite a rough 2-of-11 on third downs and just 15 first downs on offense. Defensively Arkansas held the Vols to just 4-of-13 on third downs and had three takeaways, though. The Razorbacks have lost both their road games (Utah and Texas A&M) this year, but this one’s doable.

As for Vanderbilt, they had four turnovers in the Ole Miss loss while giving up 409 total yards and 22 first downs on defense. The 11 penalties for 92 yards didn’t help matters either, but overall it was a pretty flag-heavy game. Anyhow, Vanderbilt has lost three straight now while scoring below 18 points in each of those outings.
