Washington vs Oregon Prediction Football Picks 12-1-23

The Oregon Ducks and the Washington Huskies meet Friday in college football action from Allegiant Stadium for the Pac-12 championship. Oregon is sitting on a six-game winning streak, finishing off the regular season with a victory over Oregon State last Friday. As for Washington, they’re a nice 12-0 this year following a close win over Washington State on Saturday. Here’s a Oregon vs Washington prediction.

Oregon Ducks

The Ducks have just one blemish on the schedule this year: a 36-33 loss to Washington back on October 14. Since then Oregon has won six straight, and they’re averaging a nice 45.3 points per game this season. The Ducks have 41 touchdowns, four interceptions and 351.4 points per game through the air alongside 189.7 yards per game and 31 rush touchdowns in a nicely-balanced attack.

In their latest appearance back on Friday versus Oregon State, the Ducks didn’t have a ton of issues. Oregon jumped out to a 21-7 lead by the break, then held the Beavers scoreless from there in a 31-7 blowout win. QB Bo Nix led the way on 367 yards and two scores. Jordan James had 43 rush yards and a TD on seven carries, while Tez Johnson (11 catches; 137 yards) and Troy Franklin (nine catches; 128 yards; TD) led the receivers.

Washington Huskies

Over on the Huskies’ side, they’ve had a few close escapes this year but their record remains untarnished. Washington is averaging 38.0 points per game so far, with most of that coming through the air. The Huskies average 345.5 yards per game via the pass along with 33 scores and nine picks. In the run game, Washington averages 122.6 yards per outing with 24 TDs.

Washington had another close finish versus Washington State on Saturday. The Huskies scored points in every quarter on the way to a tense win 24-21. Michael Penix threw for 204 yards with two TDs and one interception, and Dillon Johnson topped the rush on 82 yards and a score. Rome Odunze caught seven balls for 120 yards and two TDs as well.

ANDREW’S FREE WASHINGTON VS OREGON PREDICTION

I’ll probably stick with Oregon. It’s a great matchup regardless, though. The Ducks have played quite well since their loss to Washington back in October, posting 31 or more points in every installment of this current six-game win streak. In that loss to the Huskies, Oregon posted a whopping 541 yards (204 rushing), 6.4 yards per play, 32 first downs, zero turnovers and 10-of-16 on third-down tries in a great offensive effort but still couldn’t get the win. The general consensus is that Oregon has been the better team since their lone defeat, and they’ve got plenty of motivation to get some revenge on Friday.

As for Washington, they haven’t had a double-digit victory since way back on September 23. The Huskies’ last two victories have come by a combined five points, so if they’re going to get a W in this one it’ll likely be close. I like Washington to pull out all the stops in a competitive game and an eventual Oregon cover in one of the highlights of this week’s college football slate. Should be a fun one to watch.
