Week 2: Wisconsin vs Washington State 9/10/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Wisconsin Badgers and Washington State Cougars square off Saturday in week 2 college football action from Camp Randall Stadium.

The Washington State Cougars will try to build on their season-opening 24-17 win over Idaho last time out. Cameron Ward’s thrown for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns on 62.5% passing while Nakia Watson’s rushed for a team-high 117 yards. Donovan Ollie has a team-high 7 catches for 67 yards while De’Zhaun Stribling has 7 catches for 51 yards and a TD. On defense, Daiyan Henley has a team-high 8 total tackles and an interception while Chan Smith-Wade has an interception as well and Washington’s State’s defense has combined for 7 sacks.

The Wisconsin Badgers will hope to keep the ball rolling after their 38-0 rout of Illinois State last time out. Graham Mertz has thrown for 219 yards and a touchdown on 87.5% passing while Braelon Allen’s rushed for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns this season. Chez Mellusi and Julius Davis have combined for 85 rushing yards while Chimere Dike has 106 receiving yards and a touchdown. Maema Njongmeta has a team-high 8 total tackles including 7 solo tackles while Nick Herbig has a pair of sacks and John Torchio has a sack and an interception.

Washington State is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 4-2 ATS in their last 6 road games while the over is 15-8 in their last 23 road games.

I get the allure of points with Washington State here, but I didn’t like how the Cougars struggled to put away Idaho of all teams as four-touchdown favorites at the closing line. Wisconsin looked as good as usual in the win over Illinois State and the Badgers at Camp Randal are usually a tough team to break down. I just think that Washington State’s trip to Wisconsin ends on the wrong side of a beatdown, so I’ll lay the points with Wisconsin here.
