Week 4: Ohio vs Fordham 9/24/22 College Football Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Ohio Bobcats and Fordham Rams clash Saturday in a week 4 college football contest from Peden Stadium.

The Fordham Rams will look to build on their 3-0 record after a 52-49 win over Monmouth last time out. Tim DeMorat threw for 452 yards, 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 34 of 51 passing while Trey Sneed rushed for 110 yards and Julius Loughridge had 94 rushing yards and a touchdown. Fotis Kokosioulis led Fordham with 15 catches for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns while MJ Wright had 97 receiving yards and Dequece Carter added 85 receiving yards and a score. Mekai Felton had 55 receiving yards with a pair of touchdowns and Dan Byrnes added a TD grab of his own. On defense, Stephen Williams II added an interception as well.

The Ohio Bobcats will be out to rebound from a 43-10 loss to Iowa State last time out. Kurtis Rourke has thrown for 658 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 62.9% passing while Sieh Bangura has a team-high 167 rushing yards this season. James Bostic has a team-high 167 rushing yards while Tyler Walton and Sam Wiglusz each have 100+ receiving yards with Wiglusz logging a team-high 13 receptions this season. On defense, Ben Johnson has a team-high 21 total tackles while Ohio’s defensive unit has a combined 9 sacks this season.

Fordham is 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 non-conference games and 2-6-2 ATS in their last 10 road games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Ohio is 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games against a team with a winning record and 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games in September.

I get the case to be made for Ohio here as the FBS team getting the respect, but I’m not sure it’s warranted as I haven’t loved what I’ve seen from the Bobcats this season. On the other side, Fordham isn’t an FCS powerhouse, but they’ve been scoring pretty well this season and I think at worst they could keep this one from being a rout. Give me the Rams and the points.
