We’re two games into the third week of preseason in the NFL, which brings a whole lot of fantasy considerations to light. These are the games to watch if you want to get a proper feel for what teams may be doing in the regular season. With that in mind, let’s take a look around the league at some of the noteworthy fantasy names out there and see what everyone’s up to. Here’s the latest.

Week 3 Opener Notable Players: The Patriots, Lions, Panthers and Ravens got our Week 3 started last night, and players from each team displayed some somewhat unexpected stats. For the Patriots, we’ll mention Zach Sudfeld, who finished with three grabs for 36 yards. Unfortunately, he also lost a fumble. Still, he should be a big contributor with Gronkowski sidelined.
Reggie Bush’s hands were on display for the Lions. He caught five balls for 103 yards while failing to do much in the running game. The dual-threat mentality in that offense should serve him well; he's a solid second-tier consideration at RB in fantasy.
Greg Olsen was a highlight for the Panthers. He finished the game against the Ravens with three grabs on seven targets, totaling 44 yards.
Meanwhile, Ray Rice looked pretty good on the other side. He rushed 16 times for 62 yards in total, and was able to punch one in from the 1-yard line.

Hakeem Nicks, WR, New York Giants: With each passing day, Nicks continues to look better and better on the practice field. He came away from yesterday’s practice with glowing reviews from the staff, which is nice to hear since he’s been fighting off a groin injury this off-season.
Fantasy draft-wise, you’re looking at spending a top 70 or so pick on Nicks. He’s currently hovering anywhere from the late-teens to the mid-20s among wide receivers, depending on which board you’re looking at. We think early-20s sounds about right.

Robert Griffin III, QB, Washington Redskins: Yesterday was a big day in the off-season of Redskins QB Griffin. He practiced with the first-team defense for the first time this year, although the session didn’t feature full pads. That said, it’s still an encouraging step for him as he continues to work his way back from a major knee injury suffered in the playoffs last season.
It’s looking like Griffin will be good to go by the time the regular season rolls around, but he still needs to get final clearance from Dr. James Andrews early next month. Assuming that goes as planned, he’s a No. 1 fantasy QB.

Jeff Cumberland, TE, New York Jets: One player to watch this weekend is Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland. He’s a popular sleeper pick in the thin TE market thus far, and we should be able to get a good look at him on Saturday. He’s got two scores through two games thus far in the preseason, and will serve as a featured receiver in a WR-deficient lineup. Look for Cumberland as a backup or possible starter in deeper, TE-heavy leagues.
