Week 14 Gameday Injury Report
Carson Palmer - Palmer should suit up against the Rams this week, but it does not look like he will be playing at 100%. Palmer was hurt early in the first quarter last week against the Eagles and he still threw for 302 yards and 3 touchdowns. He did under throw a few passes that got picked off though. It is unclear if the injury will affect him during the game, but he did not practice much this week. The Rams have a stronger defense than the Eagles, and they can put more pressure on Palmer. There is a strong possibility that Palmer could struggle this week if he isn't healthy enough to play his best football. Palmer's injured elbow on his throwing hand combined with a defense that has forced 11 turnovers in their last four games make the entire Cardinals offense a semi-risky play for the 1st round of the playoffs.
Rams Offensive Linemen - The Rams offensive line was looking like it could be pretty short handed this week, but their starting left tackle, Jake Long, passed his concussion tests and should be on the field this Sunday. The Rams could also get back their starting right guard, Harvey Dahl. The Rams will however be without their starting center, Scott Wells. The Rams O-line injuries should not hurt Zac Stacy's fantasy value too much this week, but Stacy will be on the road against one of the best run defenses in the NFL.
Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports
Reggie Bush - Bush has been limited all week with a calf strain, and he is listed as questionable. The reports say that there is a good chance Bush will play, but Joique Bell has played extremely well this year and Bell could see the majority of the work from the Lions backfield. Fantasy owners may be hoping that Bush sits this one out so they won't have to decided on whether or not to trust him this week.
Vincent Jackson - Jackson has been limited this week with a hamstring injury, and that is a reason for fantasy owners to be concerned. If Jackson plays then he could be in for a big day. Fantasy owners looking to play Jackson and Glennon will need to check Jackson's status before kickoff. If Jackson does not play, then Timothy Wright and Tiquan Underwood would see an increase in targets.
Rashad Jennings - Jennings is listed as questionable for Sunday since he has not yet cleared his concussion tests. Jennings has been great the last few weeks, but he should not be trusted this week even if he get cleared to play. The Jets have only been able to do one thing right this year, and that is stopping opposing running backs. Fantasy owners would be better off staying away from the Raiders backfield this weekend.
Other Players to Note
Elvis Dumervil - Dumervil is listed as doubtful for this weekend's matchup against the Vikings. This does not bode well for the Ravens who were unable to get a sack last week against the porous Steelers offensive line. The Ravens defense has a great matchup, but injuries may keep them from being a reliable fantasy option.
Joe Staley - The 49ers could be without their starting left tackle this weekend. Staley hurt his knee last week against the Rams. The 49ers offense continued to click last week against the Rams after Staley went out, but fantasy owners relying on the 49ers offensive stars would feel a lot better if Staley was able to play.
Dennis Pitta - Pitta was activated and will be available to play this weekend. He may not be a big factor this week, but he could be the starter next week. Pitta became Flacco's favorite target last year, and it should not take him long to get back in sync with his quarterback. Pitta is worth an add and stash if you need help at the tight end position.
Daniel Thomas - Thomas was originally said to be to done for the season with an ankle injury, but he is listed as questionable for the game this week against the Steelers. Thomas is not a reliable fantasy option, but if he returns to action, he will cause a major decrease to Lamar Miller's fantasy value.
