We’ve got a heavy slate of NBA action set for tonight, and with it comes another evening of heavy considerations in fantasy basketball leagues everywhere. Let’s take a closer look at some of the trending players out there and see who is worth a look as a sleeper consideration or a high-value pickup ahead of this evening’s games.

Wesley Johnson, SG/SF, Los Angeles Lakers: Johnson has been heating up significantly over the last few games, and his breakout coincides with some key injuries for the Lakers. He got things started out well on L.A.’s current road trip Wednesday, posting 22 points, five rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block in Phoenix.
Johnson’s minutes--and thus his fantasy value--will take a hit as the Lakers continue to get healthy, but for now he’s a nice pickup on this road-trip that continues in Boston tonight.

Jared Sullinger, PF/C, Boston Celtics: Speaking of Boston, let’s head over there and check out Sullinger. He went beast-mode on Toronto Wednesday, posting 25 points and 20 rebounds in 39 minutes of work. That’s his third double-double in the last four games and his fourth consecutive double-digit rebounds line.
Sullinger was in a bit of a slump recently, but that’s a distant memory now. As long as he’s putting up numbers like this, he’s a must-own in virtually all fantasy leagues. Go get him if you can.

Alec Burks, PG/SG, Utah Jazz: We’ve checked in on Burks a couple of times over the past handful of games, and he’s continuing to play well and making a name for himself in fantasy. On Wednesday, he posted 20 points, five rebounds and four assists off the bench, getting 38 minutes in his second consecutive game.
Burks is a hot-and-cold player, and he’s definitely near the hot end right now. He’ll earn a starting spot if he keeps playing like this, which will send his value through the roof. He’s in Detroit tonight.

James Johnson, SF/PF, Memphis Grizzlies: Johnson has popped onto the fantasy radar a couple of times over the past few weeks, and his workhorse performance Wednesday has him there again. He put up 15 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals and six blocks in the win against Milwaukee, which should make pretty much any fantasy owner stand up and take notice.
Johnson should continue to see a minutes-load in the high-20s as long as he’s keeping this type of performance going. You won’t always get high points totals from him, but for secondary categories he can’t be beat at this level. Memphis hosts Sacramento tonight.

J.J. Redick, SG, Los Angeles Clippers: So far, so good for Redick. He was awesome in his last appearance on Wednesday night, notching a career-high 33 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals in a win against the Mavericks. He made a whopping seven three-pointers in what was just his second game back from injury.
With Chris Paul out, you can pretty much count on Redick running the majority of the offense for the Clippers. Get him if you can; His outside shooting and passing capabilities should make for some nice lines tonight against a New York team that struggles to defend inside.
