Daily Fantasy NBA 1/20/14: Matchup Plays and Value Picks
Fantasy Basketball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Today's Matchups
January 20, 2014
We’ve got 10 games coming our way in the NBA today, and that means we’ll be seeing plenty of fantasy implications out there on the court. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at some of the off-the-radar names who are trending in the right direction and could come up with big stat lines in their games today.
Ramon Sessions, PG/SG, Charlotte Bobcats: With Kemba Walker ailing, Sessions has become one of the go-to fantasy names out there right now. He posted a nice outing in the loss against the Heat on Saturday, with 16 points, three rebounds and five assists for his third consecutive double-digit scoring effort.
Sessions excels at getting to the hoop, so anytime he can put a few drives together in a game, good things happen. He should get some pretty decent minutes today at home against Toronto.

D.J. Augustin, PG, Chicago Bulls: If Augustin is still out there in your league, now’s the time to get him. He’s been putting together some pretty good stat lines for quite a while now, including Saturday’s 19 points, four rebounds, eight assists and three steals against the 76ers. Not exactly elite competition, but owners will take it.
Augustin and company will be at home against the Lakers today. For some nice across-the-board production on the lower end, he’s not a bad choice for those who can get him.
Terrence Jones, PF/SF, Houston Rockets: Jones has been out there on the waiver wire radar for a good week or two, and his performances continue to improve. He busted out a career-high 36 points, 11 rebounds an assist, a steal and two blocks against Milwaukee. Most of his work came from the inside, where he’s been able to make a living this season.
If for some reason Jones is still out there in your league, there’s absolutely no reason not to pick him up. He’ll probably take a dip producing tonight against Portland, but should continue to put up the nice lines.
Martell Webster, SG/SF, Washington Wizards: Webster has been on a pretty nice run recently, and it’s translated into a healthy fantasy buzz. He put up 15 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal against Detroit on Saturday, which was his fourth consecutive game in double-figure scoring. He’s been doing well with his outside shot, posting 10 three-pointers in his last three games.
Webster should continue to see a nice minutes-load for the foreseeable future, and that’ll help him to maintain pace here. He gets a nice matchup against the Sixers today.
Tyreke Evans, SG/SF, New Orleans Pelicans: With Evans returning from an ankle injury on Saturday and playing well, his fantasy ownership is back on the up-tick. He managed 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal in his 31 minutes against Golden State.
With the Pelicans hurt pretty bad with their injury situation, Evans should continue to see some nice minutes. He’s got quite a bit more potential with Jrue Holiday on the floor with him, but for now we’ll have to make due. That said, he should be owned just about everywhere and has a chance at putting up some nice numbers in Memphis today.
