Daily Fantasy NBA 2/25/14: Matchup Plays and Value Picks
Fantasy Basketball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
February 25, 2014
With seven games on the NBA schedule tonight, the fantasy basketball action will be ramping up a bit in the coming hours. With that in mind, let’s take our daily look at the trending fantasy names out there and see if anyone on the wire is worth a pickup. If you’re looking for an up-and-coming name or a sleeper, here’s where to start.
Markieff Morris, PF/C, Phoenix Suns: Morris has remained a heavy waiver wire add since this weekend, and now’s the time to take a look at him in just about every type of league. He has two consecutive 21-point outings to his credit, including a seven-rebound, two-assist, two-block, one-steal effort against Houston in his last appearance.
We’re on the Morris bandwagon now, and you should be too. He’s got some winnable games coming up, starting tonight against the Timberwolves.

Kent Bazemore, SG/SF, Los Angeles Lakers: Every day, there seems to be a different Laker making waves on the waiver wire. Today it’s Bazemore’s turn, as he’s coming off his first career start with 17 points, an assist and two steals on Sunday.
L.A. has had no less than 16 different starters this season, so it’s tough to get excited about anyone at this point. Still, don’t overlook Bazemore, as he’s capable of providing points, threes and steals at a reasonable rate. The downside is that he’s in Indiana tonight.
Thomas Robinson, PF, Portland Trail Blazers: Robinson’s value isn’t thought to be a very long-term proposition, but you can grab him while he’s hot. He’s coming off a 14-point, 18-rebound effort this weekend against Minnesota, logging 33 minutes in the process.
With LaMarcus Aldridge banged up, Robinson has seen quite an up-tick in fantasy value. As long as that situation remains, you can count on him to deliver some quality stats in relief. He’ll be in Denver tonight.
DeMarre Carroll, PF/SF, Atlanta Hawks: It seems like we’ve been talking about Carroll quite a bit lately, but that’s just because he’s deserved notice in fantasy recently. In the Hawks’ last game against the floundering Knicks, he delivered 24 points and six rebounds, nailing four three-pointers in the process.
Now that he’s healthy, it seems okay to trust Carroll in fantasy once again. He’s got a few tough games coming up--starting tonight against the Bulls--but should deliver some pretty good stats regardless.
Patrick Beverly, PG/SG, Houston Rockets: On Sunday in Phoenix, the fantasy world took notice of Beverly once again. He provided 20 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in the Rockets’ win, including a clutch three that helped seal the game.
Beverly’s quickly been gaining favor as a potent offensive option for Houston, and this latest performance will do nothing but cement that. He’s got a few great matchups coming up (as well as a few stinkers), starting tonight in Sacramento.
