Daily Fantasy NHL 3/6/14: Matchup Plays and Value Picks
Fantasy Hockey Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
March 6, 2014
We’ve got a full slate of NHL action (10 games) headed our way this evening, and all that activity is going to have a huge impact on your fantasy roster. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at some of the trending players out there who have made for some hot adds over the past day or so. We’ll see if any of these guys is worth adding to your roster ahead of tonight’s action.
Eddie Lack, G, Vancouver Canucks: In the wake of the surprising Roberto Luongo trade on Monday, Lack’s fantasy stock has shot way up, even though his team’s offense gives him a relatively low ceiling. He had 31 saves on Tuesday in his last appearance, yet that wasn’t good enough as Vancouver couldn’t score and fell 1-0 to Phoenix.
Lack hasn’t won in his last three games, but has given up just five goals in that span. With Luongo gone, he’s sure to get lots of extra work this season, starting tonight in Dallas.

Artem Anisimov, C/LW, Columbus Blue Jackets: Anisimov has been on quite a run lately, and he’s playing as well as ever over his last handful of games. He’s now got a four-game points streak going, with five scores and an assist in that time frame. That includes his two-goal showing against the aforementioned Stars.
Anisimov’s stock is on the way up, but tonight’s matchup isn’t the greatest. He’ll be in Chicago, which is part of a three-game road trip. Still, he’s pretty close to a must-have right now.
Adam Henrique, C, New Jersey Devils: Henrique doesn’t play until tomorrow, so keep that in mind. Still, he’s worth getting out in front of thanks to his solid play recently. He’s got a four-game points streak going, with a total of five goals and two assists in that span. During his streak, he’s plus-3 to get to plus-2 on the season so far.
Henrique has 19 goals and 15 assists on the season, so he definitely can produce points for needy fantasy owners. He’ll be in Detroit tomorrow to see if he can keep his streak going.
Erik Johnson, D, Colorado Avalanche: In his two games following his suspension, Johnson has given fantasy owners a reason to look his way. He’s got four points during that span, including a three-assist effort against the Blackhawks in his most recent outing.
Johnson’s season-long numbers are pretty good: He’s got 20 assists and eight goals, with a plus-7 rating. You’ll get some inconsistencies here and there, but overall he’s a strong add right now. He’s in Detroit against the Red Wings tonight.
Johan Franzen, LW/RW, Detroit Red Wings: Speaking of the Red Wings, let’s stick with tonight’s Colorado-Detroit matchup and check out Franzen. He’s red hot right now, coming back from injury after the break to score seven points (four goals; three assists) in three games on the ice.
Franzen is a heavy injury risk, but that gamble comes with some great upside, as you can see from his season-long numbers (30 points in 34 games and a plus-10 rating). Even with all the time he’s missed, he’s definitely worth picking up in just about every league.
