Daily Fantasy NBA 3/24/14: Matchup Plays and Value Picks
Fantasy Basketball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
March 24, 2014
It’ll be a very busy evening in the NBA, and in turn that will bring about all sorts of activity on the fantasy front. With that in mind, let’s take our daily look at some of the up-and-coming players out there who are trending in the right direction. If you’re looking for a fantasy basketball sleeper or matchup play, here’s where to start.
Henry Sims, C, Philadelphia 76ers: Nothing much is going right for the Sixers right now, but Sims is an exception to that rule. He was great in his last outing, providing 18 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Even more impressive was the fact that he did it against the Bulls.
That’s two double-doubles in a row for Sims, and we’re really starting to take a liking to him. He’s got some stout competition coming up--starting tonight in San Antonio--but should provide a sufficient fantasy lift.

Tiago Splitter, C, San Antonio Spurs: One good turn deserves another, so let’s stick with the Spurs-Sixers matchup tonight and check in with Splitter. He’s also coming off a nice game, this one against the Warriors. He put up 17 points and 14 rebounds in that one, good enough for his second straight double-double.
Splitter has been great for the past four games, all of which he’s posted double figures in. Considering how bad the Sixers have been over the past 24 games or so, he’s a great fantasy play tonight.
Reggie Jackson, PG/SG, Oklahoma City Thunder: We visited with Jackson over the weekend, but since his got a game coming up tonight it’s time to check in on him again. He’s coming off a 25-point, 12-rebound, three-assist, one-block line against Toronto, continuing his run of solid fantasy play.
Jackson has four straight double-digit scoring outings to his credit, so he’s earned a healthy dose of minutes. The Thunder will host Denver tonight, and we foresee a fairly high-scoring outing here.
Gerald Henderson, SG/SF, Charlotte Bobcats: Henderson is churning up the waiver wire charts thanks to an incredibly efficient game against the Blazers. He put up 23 points, eight rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block in a stat-sheet-filling outing on Saturday. That marks his sixth straight double-digit scoring line.
Henderson was a nice 8-of-11 in that one, and he now has two made threes in four of his last five games. At least for the time being while he’s nailing his shots, he’s worth kicking the tires on for Houston tonight.
Dorell Wright, SG/SF, Portland Trail Blazers: Let’s dig a little deeper and check out Wright, who has quietly made a name for himself in the fantasy game recently. He put up 17 points and six rebounds in a loss to Charlotte on Saturday, which gives him double-digits in five of his last six games.
Wright’s value has been tied to LaMarcus Aldridge’s status, so potential owners will have to keep watch on that situation. If he’s out again, Wright has some real value against the Heat tonight.
