Daily Fantasy NBA 3/29/14: Matchup Plays and Value Picks
Fantasy Basketball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
March 29, 2014
It won’t be too heavy of a slate in the NBA this evening--just six games--but we should see plenty of fantasy action out there on the court nonetheless. With that in mind, let’s take our daily look at some of the underrated, up-and-coming players who are making noise on the waiver wire. If you’re looking for an investment/sleeper or a matchup play, here’s where to start.
Henry Sims, C, Philadelphia 76ers: It’s not all doom and gloom in Philadelphia these days (just mostly). Sims has been offering a glimmer of hope for the future, and he’s been quite the popular add in fantasy as well. He’s coming off an 18-point, six-rebound line in his last outing, which gives him four straight double-digit scoring performances.
Mixed in those four games have been a couple of double-doubles, so he’s got the goods to deliver. The Sixers will be trying to avoid breaking the consecutive losses record against the Pistons tonight, so Sims has a lot to play for.

James Anderson, SG/SF, Philadelphia 76ers: Let’s stick with the Sixers for a moment and check out Anderson. He wowed just about everyone against the Rockets, tossing up 30 points and six three-pointers in Philly’s latest loss. He now has eight made threes in his last two appearances.
Expect the 76ers to be playing with some extra fire tonight as they try to stay out of the record books. Anderson is a lower-end play, but should get enough minutes to be effective.
Jeff Adrien, SF/PF, Milwaukee Bucks: Ramon Sessions is the guy to have on the Bucks squad, but if you can’t get him, Adrien has some pretty decent value of his own. He’s coming off eight points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks against the Lakers, which breaks a string of three straight double-digit scoring performances.
With Ersan Ilyasova out for the rest of the year, Adrien will be mopping up those extra minutes. Tonight’s matchup against the Heat isn’t that great, but he should produce enough to warrant a look in most leagues.
Vince Carter, SG/SF, Dallas Mavericks: It’s been a while since Carter has found his way into this space, but given his recent performance against the Clippers, he’s back on the radar again. He put up 23 points against L.A., which gives him five straight double-digit scoring outings.
Carter also has eight made threes in his last two games alone, so his long-range shots are falling with regularity. Even better, he gets a great matchup against the Kings tonight. Go get him.
Jeremy Lin, PG/SG, Houston Rockets: Lin hasn’t been quite the fantasy dynamo this season, but he’s still got some value. He has five straight double-digit scoring games during the Rockets’ current five-game win streak, and his most recent performance (13 points; seven assists) has turned some heads.
With Patrick Beverley hurting, the Rockets will lean on Lin for the time being. He won’t tear up the stat sheet, but should provide enough to warrant a pickup just about everywhere. The Clippers come to town tonight.
