Sunday always comes with a bit of sadness for us fantasy baseball owners. The big weekend series are almost at an end, and it’s time to get back to the hustle and bustle of the workweek. That said, there’s still plenty to keep us occupied, so let’s take our daily look at some of the up-and-coming finds out there and see who might be a good fit for your roster.

Henderson Alvarez, SP, Miami Marlins: We’ll start things out today with Alvarez, who has been pretty close to stellar recently. He’s coming off a complete-game shutout of the Rays, posting eight hits and fanning five batters in that one.
Alvarez hasn’t allowed an earned run since May 16, a span of three straight starts (and one postponed appearance). Even better, he’s got a great matchup impending today against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Buy, buy, buy.

Collin McHugh, SP, Houston Astros: Another good SP candidate today is McHugh, who has been a popular pickup over the last couple of weeks. He hasn’t allowed an earned run in his last two starts, and he’s 2-0 in that frame with 13 strikeouts.
McHugh is part of the pitching revival in Houston and is rocking a 2.52 ERA with a sweet 0.96 WHIP right now. He’ll make his next start today in Minnesota and is a good candidate for an investment this season.

Lonnie Chisenhall, 1B/3B, Cleveland Indians: As a corner man, Chisenhall has been making quite a name for himself lately. Heading into yesterday’s game against Texas, he had a four-game hit streak going, and in that frame had delivered six RBI and a homer. He had two more hits, a run and an RBI yesterday.
Chisenhall’s BA is pretty darn good, and his other numbers are starting to follow suit as well. There have been plenty of injuries and underperformances at the corners this season, so he’s a nice pickup if you’re hurting there.

Khris Davis, OF, Milwaukee Brewers: Davis has appeared in this space several times this season, and he’s playing well enough to make it in again. Heading into the Saturday game in Pittsburgh, he had a four-game hit streak going, with three runs, a homer, four RBI and a steal in that frame. He had two hits, two runs and an RBI yesterday.
As long as Davis keeps pumping in the RBI and keeping his BA respectable, he’s definitely worth kicking the tires on. Make sure you give him a look before he heads off to the Big Apple to face the Mets this week.

Josh Harrison, 2B/3B/OF, Pittsburgh Pirates: Harrison has been quite the hot commodity in fantasy recently. Heading into yesterday’s game against the Brewers, he had a nine-game hit streak going, including five runs, a homer and six RBI in that frame. He posted another hit yesterday to keep it going.
There’s not much to dislike about Harrison, and his positional eligibility comes in mighty handy. As long as he’s hitting, he makes a nice pickup, especially at the rough 2B spot, where your roster is probably thin.
