Fantasy Football News: Injury Update 9/27/14
Taking a Look at Some of the Injured Fantasy Players Heading into Week 4
September 27, 2014
It’s Saturday, and that means it’s time for our weekly look at some of the injured fantasy football players that will be affecting your lineups tomorrow--for better or worse. We’ve got the usual lineup of notable names on the injury reports today, so let’s take a closer look at a few and see what you should be expecting from your roster.
Detroit uber-WR Calvin Johnson is questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Jets due to an ankle injury. The good news is that he was able to participate in practice on a limited basis yesterday. We’d imagine he’ll play--and play well against that weak NY secondary--but you’ll have to double-check him closer to game-time.

Speaking of uber-WRs, Houston’s Andre Johnson is dealing with an ankle injury as well. He’s deemed probable for tomorrow against the incoming Bills, however.
Johnson needs to make amends to his fantasy owners after he posted just four grabs for 24 yards in last week’s game.
Both Vincent Jackson and Doug Martin of the Buccaneers have been listed as probable for tomorrow against the Steelers. Jackson has a wrist issue and Martin is dealing with a knee injury.
Feel free to utilize DeAngelo Williams as a flex play this week; He’s the only truly healthy back left in the once-crowded Carolina backfield.
Both Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert were injured in Week 3, and Williams was held out of that one as he got over a thigh injury (he missed Week 2 as well).
The Panthers will be taking on a pretty good Ravens defense, but Williams should see a significant enough workload to be effective.
49ers TE Vernon Davis will be testing out his ankles before the Philadelphia game, then he’ll make a decision on whether or not he’s healthy enough to play. If he’s on your roster, make sure you’ve got a backup plan ready to go.
Jets No. 1 WR Eric Decker is questionable this week with a hamstring injury. He’s been fighting that issue for the last two weeks. One other notable from their injury report is Dee Milliner, who is doubtful with a quad injury. If he doesn’t play, the Jets secondary has little chance at holding back the Detroit receiving corps.
Bears WR Brandon Marshall has been deemed as questionable for tomorrow’s big game against Green Bay. He’s been hobbled by an ankle injury. Owners will have to monitor his status up until game time.
Texans RB Arian Foster will also be a game-time decision. He’s in danger of missing his second straight week due to a hamstring issue.
