Taking a Look at the Week 15 Sleeper Trends in Fantasy

Week 15 in the NFL is upon us, and that means it’s the second week of the fantasy football playoffs in many leagues out there. Even with a solid lineup on your side, you may be looking for a couple of sleeper candidates to help put you over the top this week. With that in mind, let’s take a look at a few lower-end names who could come up with some big numbers in their games.

Chris Johnson, RB, New York Jets: Though Chris Ivory has been the more fantasy-reliable name in New York lately (though that’s not saying much), Johnson gets a bump up for this game in his former city.
Johnson has 158 yards on 33 touches in the past two weeks, so he’s getting his opportunities. The familiar surroundings in Tennessee might help spark him to a nice day.

Fantasy Football 2014: Week 15 Sleeper Picks

Johnny Manziel, QB, Cleveland Browns: Manziel is probably the trendiest sleeper pickup this week, and it’s not too hard to see why. He’s capable of some dynamic plays with both his arm and his legs, and he’ll be getting his first start this week against the Bengals.
Cincinnati can be vulnerable to the pass at times, and with Manziel’s running threat he should have some open passing lanes. If he can find them, he’ll put up some nice numbers.

Knile Davis, RB, Kansas City Chiefs: With Jamaal Charles banged up this week (knee), Davis gets some extra fantasy juice. Up until now, he’s been little more than a handcuff, but considering the circumstances he might just make a nice sleeper prospect.
If Charles is limited this week, Davis should see quite a few more touches. The matchup is good, too: KC is playing Oakland at home. Keep his name in mind if you’re a deep-leaguer.

Tennessee Titans Defense: Those owners who have been stringing defenses this season have a few options this week. One of those is the Titans, who admittedly haven’t been all that impressive in fantasy terms. They scored 14 points in Week 1, and another 13 in Week 6, but aside from that haven’t even sniffed double-digits.
That said, Tennessee gets the hapless Jets this week. If there’s ever a day for them to post big numbers, it’s this one.

Toby Gerhart, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars: Let’s close things out with another running back this week. Gerhart will be splitting the carries along with Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson now that Denard Robinson is on the shelf.
Gerhart doesn’t get too many carries, but he’ll likely be the Jags’ red-zone option when they get down there. He’s got a pretty good-looking schedule to finish out the year, too: the Ravens, Titans and Texans.
