Fantasy Hockey 2014-15: Waiver Wire Update 2/24
Fantasy Hockey Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
February 24, 2015
With a whopping 11 games on tap in the NHL tonight, this morning makes a great time to visit the fantasy hockey waiver wire to see where the latest trends are. We’ve got our usual roundup of up-and-coming players, so let’s take a closer look at the stats to see if anyone’s right for your team.
Eddie Lack, G, Vancouver Canucks: Lack has been the hot goalie pickup over the past day or so, thanks to what happened in Sunday’s game against the Islanders. He came on in relief of Ryan Miller in that one, turning away all 27 shots that approached him.
If Miller is out for any length of time at all, Lack is a big-time fantasy pickup. We’ll get some more information today ahead of the game in Boston, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Rob Zepp, G, Philadelphia Flyers: Let’s hit the goalie spot one more time today and check out Zepp. He’s got wins in two straight starts in relief of the injured Steve Mason, allowing two goals in each and a combined 41 saves.
Mason won’t be back until this weekend at the earliest, so you’ve got a little time with Zepp if you want a plug-and-play guy. He’ll see the Hurricanes and Toronto on this road trip.
Craig Smith, C/RW, Nashville Predators: Even though Smith came up empty in Buffalo during his last outing, the residuals from his four-game points streak last week are still keeping him up on the waiver wire radar.
Smith logged four goals and two assists during the streak, despite not getting a whole lot in the way of ice time. He’s got 18 scores and 15 helpers on the season with a plus-7 rating. He’s still a worthy pickup at his level.
Milan Michalek, LW/RW, Ottawa Senators: It’s been a little while since we’ve seen Michalek on the ice, so let’s refresh our memories on him. He’s got points in four of his last six outings, with four goals and four assists in that span.
Michalek has 11 goals and 13 assists on the year and has been a very solid contributor lately. He and the Sens will embark on a lengthy road trip starting tomorrow in Anaheim.
Tyler Myers, D, Winnipeg Jets: Let’s finish up on defense today by checking out Myers. He has a four-game points streak to his credit right now, with four assists and a goal in that span.
Myers has awakened since joining up with the Jets, and he’s seeing quite a bit of ice time as well. He’s one of the trendiest defensemen to add ahead of tonight’s home game against Dallas.
