Fantasy Hockey 2014-15: Waiver Wire Update 3/26
Fantasy Hockey Daily Leagues: Waiver Pickups and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
March 26, 2015
It’s high time we got back to fantasy hockey around here, and with tonight’s 11-game set, it’s a perfect time to check out some of the trending waiver wire pickups out there. Let’s take a closer look at the stats and see if anyone’s right for your team in daily or seasonal leagues.
Justin Abdelkader, LW/RW, Detroit Red Wings: If you haven’t picked up Abdelkader by now, it’s high time you did. He’s got a goal and an assist in two straight games, giving him 21 scored and 20 helpers on the season.
Earlier this month, Abdelkader was on quite a tear as well. He put up six goals in a six-game span. He’s plus-4 for the year and more than worthy of adding to any fantasy hockey roster.
USA TODAY Sports
Drew Stafford, RW, Winnipeg Jets: We’d imagine even the Jets couldn’t have imagined how good Stafford would be after the transfer from Buffalo. He’s currently on a seven-game points streak, during which he’s provided four goals and five assists.
Stafford carries an impressive 16 goals and 23 assists into tonight’s game against Montreal, and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Yannick Weber, D, Vancouver Canucks: Let’s head over to the defensive side now, starting with Weber. He has a three-game points streak to his credit, posting two assists and two goals in that frame.
Weber has eight scores, 10 assists and a plus-5 rating on the season to date. He also has 10 hits in his last three games alone.
Alexander Edler, D, Vancouver Canucks: Edler is on a nice little run lately that has culminated in two goals and three assists over his last five games. He’s also plus-4 during that span.
Edler boasts seven scores and 15 helpers on the year alongside a nice plus-15 rating. He’ll be at home against the incoming Avalanche tonight, so make a move before that one gets going.
Mike Hoffman, C/LW, Ottawa Senators: We’ll finish up things today with Hoffman, who has four points (two goals; two assists) in his last two games. He’s coming off a nice performance against the Sharks where he was plus-3 for the evening.
Hoffman leads the Senators with 26 goals and also has 20 assists and a sterling plus-23 rating on the year. If this is the start of another run, you need to get on this train now while it’s pulling out of the station.
