Here is my lineup for tonight’s games. Please note that I’m using the salary cap based on FanDuel prices.

Also, as this is written the day before/morning of the games, please check the lineups and weather to ensure you have all active players going tonight!
Pitcher – Shelby Miller – Atlanta Braves
Chris Sale has a great matchup against the free-swinging Houston Astros on Monday, however, I think the value is better with Shelby Miller as he also has a solid matchup against the San Diego Padres. Miller has been outstanding all season and has posted a 1.89 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP while striking out 51 batters in 71.1 IP. Miller has held the current Padres roster to just a .150 (9-60) average. Miller has reached at least 8 K’s in three of his outings on the season and as the Padres ranked 4th in MLB in total strikeouts against right-handers, Miller will be on the mound for my team tonight.
Catcher – Russell Martin – Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays probably have the best lineup to stack with tonight as they go against the left-handed Brad Hand of the Miami Marlins, and due to this I’m going to go with Russell Martin as my catcher tonight. Martin is hitting .267 on the season with 8 homeruns and 26 RBI’s and although he is hitting just .154 over the past week, he was 2-4 with a homerun and 2 RBI’s in yesterday’s game against the Houston Astros. Hand is allowing RHB to have a .286 average and .719 OPS against him and as Martin is hitting .302 with a .558 slugging % at home, he is solid choice for tonight.
First Base – Freddie Freeman – Atlanta Braves
Freddie Freeman is hitting .300 on the season with 10 homeruns and 34 RBI’s and is worth the price on Monday as he has a favorable matchup against Ian Kennedy of the San Diego Padres in which he has posted a career .600 (6-10) average with 2 doubles, a homerun, and 8 RBI’s. Kennedy has really struggled on the season (6.60 ERA, 1.47 WHIP) and is allowing LHB to have a .293 average and .993 OPS against him. Freeman is hitting .391 over the past week and has hit .308 at Turner Field on the season which makes him a safe play tonight.
Second Base – DJ LeMahieu – Colorado Rockies
DJ LeMahieu is having a great season so far in 2015 as the second baseman is hitting .335 with 3 homeruns and 27 RBI’s so far on the season. LeMahieu has collected at least one base hit in 8 of his last 9 games with 4 multi-hit games in that span. Although LeMahieu hasn’t faced John Lackey yet in his career, he has be hitting .347 against right-handed pitching on the season. LeMahieu and the Rockies will be at Coors Field tonight and as LeMahieu is also hitting .347 at home, I’m going to roll with him tonight.
Shortstop – Andrelton Simmons – Atlanta Braves
I need to save some money and I’m going to do that picking up Andrelton Simmons of the Atlanta Braves on Monday. Simmons is hitting .262 on the season with 3 homeruns and 23 RBI’s and although he has had no success against Ian Kennedy of the Padres in his career, Simmons is hitting .282 against right-handed pitching on the season. Ian Kennedy has really struggled on the season and if there is going to be a night that Simmons has success off the veteran right-hander, I think it will be tonight.
Third Base – Josh Donaldson – Toronto Blue Jays
I was saving my money for either Josh Donaldson or Jose Bautista and although Bautista has been on fire as of light, I’m going to put my money on Donaldson tonight. On the season, Donaldson is hitting .308 with 15 homeruns and 40 RBI’s and has hit an incredible .362 with 10 homeruns and 24 RBI’s at the Rodgers Centre. Donaldson has yet to face the left-handed Brad Hand of the Miami Marlins in his career, however, is hitting .429 (18-42) with 4 homeruns against lefties on the season. I think Brad Hand could be in for a long night at the Rodgers Centre with how the Blue Jays are swinging the bats.
Outfield – Torii Hunter – Minnesota Twins
Torii Hunter is having a great year back with his original ball club and has posted a .281 average with 8 homeruns and 36 RBI’s on the season. Hunter will be facing a familiar foe in Jason Vargas of the Kansas City Royals on Monday in which he has posted a career .333 (16-38) average with 6 doubles against. Vargas has really struggled against the Twins in 2015 as in his two starts he has posted a 9.35 ERA giving up 18 hits and 10 runs over just 8.2 IP. Hunter is hitting a solid .296 in June and has a .284 average against left-handers which makes him a decent play tonight.
Outfield – Alex Rios – Kansas City Royals
Alex Rios missed about a month and a half of action due to a broken hand this year and although he is hitting just .255 with a homerun and 8 RBI’s in his limited action, Rios has a great matchup against Phil Hughes of the Minnesota Twins on Monday. In his career against the right-handed Hughes, Rios has posted a .481 (13-27) average and a 1.205 OPS. Over his last three seasons, Rios has an outstanding .405 (21-74) average with 7 doubles, 3 triples, and 2 homeruns at Target Field. Rios has hit .346 and has a 1.059 OPS against the Twins in his past three seasons and for the price tag tonight, he has great value.
Outfield – Andre Ethier – Los Angeles Dodgers
Andre Ethier is hitting just .160 over the last week, however, the veteran outfielder is hitting .282 with 7 homeruns and 22 RBI’s on the season and has been a solid play throughout 2015 against right-handed pitching. Ethier will be going against Rubby De La Rosa of the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night and although Ethier has limited experience against De La Rosa (1 for 2 lifetime), Ethier does have a .519 slugging % with all seven of his homeruns coming against right-handed pitching in 2015. De La Rosa is allowing LHB to hit .315 (.997 OPS) against him on the season and as Ethier has done most of his damage at home so far this season, he is a great play tonight.
