Fantasy Baseball Update 6/11/15: Key Matchups This Weekend
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
June 11, 2015
It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time once again for us fantasy baseball owners to start looking forward to the big weekend series around the MLB. We’ve scoured the waiver wire and come up with a few solid finds who could be putting up big numbers in their upcoming games. Let’s take a look at the recent numbers to see who might make a nice addition to your team.
Chris Heston, SP/RP, San Francisco Giants: Well, of course we’ve got to talk about Heston this morning. He’s coming off a beautiful performance against the Mets, tossing a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts in what would have been a perfect game if not for three HBP walks.
Heston has seen both good and bad numbers in 2015 so far. The good news is that when he’s good, he’s putting up some very nice stats. He’ll get a chance to stay rolling in the Diamondbacks finale on Sunday.

Cameron Maybin, OF, Atlanta Braves: Maybin has been playing well as of late, and has quite the waiver wire following to show for it. Heading into yesterday’s game, he had a six-game hit streak, with five of those being multi-hit outings. He got two more and an RBI yesterday.
Maybin has reached double-digits in steals and is hovering around a .300 BA these days. He’ll head to New York to see the Mets this weekend, so he’s definitely a consideration moving forward.
Carlos Correa, SS, Houston Astros: This week, Correa made quite a bit of noise on the waiver wire when it was announced that he’d be joining the big club for the White Sox series. He responded with three hits, three RBI, a homer and a steal in his first two games alone. He bagged another hit yesterday to keep it going.
Correa is one of the hottest prospects in the game right now, and has a very high ceiling as a hitter. With the lack of options at SS in fantasy, he’s a stellar add for the Mariners games.
Maikel Franco, 3B, Philadelphia Phillies: Franco has been on a roll recently, and he’s upped his fantasy visibility as a result. Heading into the Reds finale, he had an eight-game hit streak to his name, with six of those efforts yielding multiple hits. He got another hit yesterday.
Franco needs some more help from his teammates if he’s going to bump up his RBI and run totals, which have been really good considering what he’s working with. He’ll head to Pittsburgh to see the Pirates this weekend.
Matt Duffy, 2B/3B/SS, San Francisco Giants: Duffy has been on fire at the plate this week, pumping in seven hits, five runs, two homers and four RBI heading into yesterday’s game. He was 1-for-4 in that one.
Duffy’s positional eligibility should pique your interest right off the bat, as he can be slotted in at three key infield spots. He’ll be at home against the Diamondbacks this weekend.
