Here is my lineup for tonight’s games. Please note that I’m using the salary cap based on FanDuel prices.

Also, as this is written the day before/morning of the games, please check the lineups and weather to ensure you have all active players going tonight!
Pitcher – Lance McCullers – Houston Astros
Lance McCullers is a great value play today the rookie right-hander has posted a 2.00 ERA with a 0.89 WHIP while striking out 40 batters in 36.0 IP so far in 2015. McCullers has a favorable matchup against the Seattle Mariners who rank 3rd in MLB it total strikeouts. McCullers recently faced Seattle this past Sunday in which he went only 5 IP, but gave up no hits or runs while striking out 4 in the matchup. McCullers didn’t have great control last Sunday as he walked 4 batters which got his pitch total up quickly, however, for the price tag that he is at tonight and the upside he brings into this matchup makes him a great play on Friday.
Catcher – Jonathan Lucroy – Milwaukee Brewers
Jonathan Lucroy missed a good chunk of the season due to a broken toe and although he is just hitting .230 with a homerun and 10 RBI’s he has a good matchup against Jorge De La Rosa at Coors Field on Monday. Lucroy has some experience against De La Rosa as in his career he has posted a .286 (2 for 7) average with a double. Over the past three seasons Lucroy has hit .329 against LHP and as his price tag hasn’t been raised to much due to the fact he is Colorado tonight, I think this is too good of a matchup to past up.
First Base – Chris Davis – Baltimore Orioles
Baltimore hitters disappointed yesterday with a lack-luster effort against Sean O’ Sullivan of the Philadelphia Phillies, however, I’m going to go back to Chris Davis tonight as I do like his matchup against Marco Estrada of the Toronto Blue Jays. Davis is only hitting .224 on the season however, he has shown the power we have come to expect from Davis as he has 14 homeruns and 38 RBI’s so far in 2015. Davis has limited experience against the right-handed Estrada, however in his career is 1 for 3 with a homerun. Davis has hit 11 homeruns against RHP on the season and as he has a .348 average with 9 homeruns at the Rodgers Centre over his past three seasons, he is good pick for 1st base tonight.
Second Base – Jason Kipnis – Cleveland Indians
I’ve been able to save so money so far, so I’m going to spend some on Jason Kipnis as the Indian 2nd baseman is hitting .335 with 5 homeruns, 28 RBI’s, and 10 SB on the season. Kipnis will be going up against Nathan Karns of the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday and although he hasn’t faced Karns in his career, Kipnis is hitting .388 against RHP on the season. Kipnis has a 13 game hitting streak going into Friday’s matchup and as he is hitting .393 at home on the season, I don’t see any reason why Kipnis could not have a big day on Friday night.
Shortstop – Alcides Escobar – Kansas City Royals
Alcides Escobar is having a nice season with the Royals as the lead-off man is hitting .270 with 2 homeruns, 24 RBI’s and 5 SB’s so far in 2015. Escobar has been on fire as of late as in his past two games he has gone 5 for 9 with a double, triple and 4 RBI’s. Escobar has a tough matchup against the left-handed throwing Eduardo Rodriguez of the Boston Red Sox but as I need to save money at this position and that Escobar does have speed to cause some damage on the basepaths, I’m going to hope that his hot hand continues on Friday night.
Third Base – Matt Carpenter – St. Louis Cardinals
Matt Carpenter is having another solid season and although he has slowed done a bit as of late, he is still posting a .294 average with 8 homeruns and 32 RBI’s on the season. I love Carpenter tonight as he is facing a spot starter in the right handed Phillippe Aumont of the Philadelphia Phillies who in his short career has a 6.13 ERA and 1.89 WHIP in just 39.2 IP in his career. Carpenter has fared well against the Phillies this year as he currently has a .400 average and as he has a .333 average and .979 OPS against RHP in 2015, he is solid play tonight.
Outfield – Carlos Gonzalez – Colorado Rockies
Carlos Gonzalez is finally showing some signs of life in Colorado over the past week as although he still is not getting many base hits, he is starting to hit the long ball as he has 4 homeruns over the past week. Gonzalez is hitting .243 on the season with 10 homeruns and 27 RBI’s and I like his matchup tonight against the rookie right-hander Taylor Jungmann of the Milwaukee Brewers. Jungmann has been decent in his first two starts, but he has allowed LHB to hit .286 against him early in his career. Gonzalez has hit better against RHP and at Coors Field on the season as it seems that he is just finding his swing, I think this is a nice matchup tonight.
Outfield – Ryan Braun – Milwaukee Brewers
Ryan Braun has disappointed me every time I’ve taken him this year, but I can’t shy away from Braun tonight as not only is he at Coors Field, he has absolutely dominated the left-handed Jorge De La Rosa over his career. Braun is hitting just .249 on the season, but does have 13 homeruns and 41 RBI’s and in his career, he has a .714 (10-14) average with 3 homeruns and 10 RBI’s. If that along is not enough to convince you to make room from Braun tonight in your lineups, then I don’t know what is.
Outfield – Jason Heyward – St. Louis Cardinals
Jason Heyward hasn’t exactly torn it up with St. Louis in his first season with the Cardinals as the right fielder is hitting just .260 with 6 homeruns and 20 RBI’s on the season, however, he is hitting .350 with a homerun over the last week and has a favorable pitching matchup against Phillippe Aumont of the Philadelphia Phillies. Heyward has a .289 average and .844 OPS against RHP over his past three seasons, and although the Cardinals offensive has been struggling over the past two weeks, I think they can get their bats to wake up in Philadelphia tonight against Phillippe Aumont.
